Quidco total rubbish

  • Just a note to give an example of how helpful the QUIDCO dispute resolution service is...

I signed up for Npower in April and disputed missing cashback of £100 in July. I have since received:
A message 26th July telling me my claim is being investigated with Npower Ticket No 2646552.
2 messages 30th July telling me my claim is being investigated with Npower
A message 7th August telling me my claim is being investigated with Npower
A message 30th August telling me my claim is being investigated with Npower
A message 27th September telling me my claim is being investigated with Npower

And finally today a message 22nd October stating The issue here is that your claim has been sent back to ORANGE to be rechecked but they have so far failed to do so and this is causing the delay.

... Cannot even get the companies name right after four months of 'chasing' and 'escalating.'

I reccommend everyone avoids this company.

    Kind regards

  • Have had a fair few not track or decline but once chased have usually been paid although do then have to wait a few months!
Not sure how the '3 months' of PC world payment schedules is 'faster paying' though?!

Depends on the company you try and get cashback with. It's mostly their fault. I've some cashback waiting for More Than that I bought in April. Still saying tracked. But others I've had good success with.
MoreThan and Quidco have been a joke for a few years now. They turned down hundreds of claims a few years back using the "conflicting cookies" excuse, I used a different computer for the transaction so that was a blatant lie, and Quidco would not push them on it. Use TCB now, the failing to track rate is just as poor but unlike Q every one queried is chased and paid pretty promptly, that is the major difference.

Cashback sites sometimes have a "community" feel, but it's important to remember that they are generally businesses, in my view, and not accept the explanation that they are reliant on third parties (which business isn't?) without challenging their service.

I experienced an issue with Quidco in 2008- just under £25 of cashback for Littlewoods declined because the merchant/affiliate claimed that they couldn't locate the order, despite me being able to produce account, order, delivery details etc. and documentary evidence; and I was apparently not alone amongst Quidco customers who appeared to have inexplicably had Littlewoods Group claims declined.

I was not satisfied that Quidco made enough effort to sort it out, so joined TopCashBack, who I now use almost 100% of the time.

I never received the cashback from Quidco, but at least I can be satisfied that I took my business elsewhere.

I also stopped purchasing large items from Littlewoods, on the grounds that cashback on goods purchased from them was unreliable and therefore affected the likely value of buying from them.
  • Just thought I should try and bring a little balance here. Over quite a few years I've made more than £400 from Quico and had very few issues.

I may only use them 4 or 5 times a year but occasionally the deals can be amazing. I recently wanted to get my three kids new mobiles and saw a great deal on carphone warehouse for the phone they wanted on a contract for £7.50 a month. On the off chance I checked on Quidco before I bought and ended up getting £60 per phone cashback - that will pay most of the first years rental ! The money came through after about a month.

Worth the £5 a year subscription I think... :money:

A sure sign of poor customer services, when a company feels the need to employ a rep to monitor forums for complaints. :o

I would say it was the exact opposite. Well done to the company. I've no complaints about quidco.

Quidco just ripped me off for some O2 mobile credit.
I asked for clarification on a claim (my transaction IDs started with a "0", not a "1") and they just closed it in response.
I'll still use them if it suits me, but I'll make major purchases elsewhere.
  • Can someone clear this up for me, it's semi-related to this, when I hear the word "cashback", I assume it's withdrawing cash from your own bank account when paying for something by card at a shop, so what is THIS cashback meant to mean?
Don't burn me, I'm only young!
