Phoned up and cancelled sky tv, starting to regret it

I got a similar letter
50% off, new HD box, £50 credit, but I would have to pay the £10 a month for HD. So no thanks.
A new HD box (£250-£300) and a £50 credit means your at least £180 up on the deal after a year even if you take the £10/month HD payment into account.
Add to that 50% off your subscription for a year ......
Well, I'd go for it.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Well, I'd go for it.
I know, I had to stop myself signing up, the kids are doing their O & A levels this summer so no Sky until June.
13 months Skyless now0 -
Well there's a turn up - had a guy from sky ring this evening - special retentions or some such ( I wasnt really paying attention) and he said his team were there to be in touch with ex customers who had been loyal for years and yet cancelled ( I cancelled in Feb)
Very interested in my viewing habits and kept trying to interrupt me to make me an offer but I held strong and refused to listen
I really am not interested in going back to sky but for those who are - perhaps its worth holding out a few months0 -
I've found Sky to be quite disappointing. But that's mostly because of there being nothing good to watch every evening. When I joined in August I got £50 of M&S vouchers, which was pretty good!0

I was on a basic SKY package with HD box and recording I was on the half price for a year paying £12.50 per month for their service, due to expire this month.
I did not want to pay the full price so rang sky to cancel my subscription but just asked if they have any deals to help reduce what I pay, I was offered 6 months basic subscription for the price of £17.25, no contract to sign, can cancel with one months notice.0
