Well my 'Snazzypants' pads arrived this morning lightning fast. I ordered them at about 2pm yesterday and posted the cheque this morning and they arrived this morning too. They are really great. They feel comfortable and they are absorbant and keep in place really well.

I think I will still use flushable ones when I'm out for a whole day though. I can't imagine changing it and having to carry it around in your handbag all day waiting to put it in the wash. Eeeeew!! Unless anyone has got any tips on that?

  • A washable or plastic purse/bag to carry inside your handbag. Preferably not see through! My peeweez ones fold into a purse shape with the underneath part showing outside, so even if it's used you can't tell when it's folded. Still, I'm looking for a bag for them for when my son is potty trained and I can't just stick it in with the nappies!

OK, I'll look round for something that will fit in my handbag.

  • Hey, same here for me - saw this post ages ago but was pregnant so did not get one and thought that I would wait until they returned! Well they now have and I stumbled across this forum again and decided that I will order one but I also have a couple of questions:-

    1. Noticed they are a little cheaper off Ebay but do you think that I would still get the money back guarantee thing from Mooncup or not?

    2. As I wear thongs all the time and tend to buy those special pads to fit them, how do the reusable liners fair with fitting etc.

    3. Cost aside, which are the best reuseable pads to get, has anyone tried the Sanpro ones? Don't want any of those funny pattened ones - prefer plain stuff myself!

Using tampons with my 1st period after my second child was awful, had that horrible dragging feeling like my insides were falling out and made me feel ill. As I feel bad every time I flush one away I think that it is time to make a change and with most people giving positive reports I don't think that I can go wrong!

Not looking forward to next month, prob be a killer as almost a year since I had my little un so prob has plenty of catching up to do!

Ps. Next usually sell nice smart plain handkerchiefs!

I must say you have all really opened my eyes. Until now I thought you had to fork out for feminine hygiene products all the while. I resented the fact that they weren't free (I think they should be free on the National Health) and the fact that we were paying VAT on them. I never once thought that there was any alternative. I've been paying out for them since I was 8 and I'm 35 now. So I'm really looking forward to saving my money.

  • 8?! You poor thing!

As for the patterns, I decided I wanted patterns incase of staining, but that hasn't happened at all. So I guess plain would be fine. I don't know of any thong ones though.

I don't really have periods any more, but when I did I used to buy sanibags and put my tampons in there and then in the bin so at least I knew they wouldn't end up in sewage on the beach.

I have bought pads from https://www.peeweez.co.uk and https://www.snazzypants.co.uk and i felt the same as you about patterns, i thought 'eugh, patterns? why!' but i have to admit i LOVE my patterned pads now :D:D

Peeweez patterns are mainly floral designs or other patterns, and snazzypants have the CUTEST designs i've seen, i currently have (as well as my peeweez patterned ones) 1x leopard print one and a cartoon cow (V. V. CUTE!)from snazzypants.
I like the patterns because it adds a bit of fun and not so 'clinical' as the hospital white we are all used to. Also i dry them on a radiator drier in my bedroom and they look nicer than a row of white ones would. My hubby smiles when he sees them!

I guess its down to personal choice, but give one a go, you never know, you might fall in love ;)

  • Peeweez menstual pads patterns remind me of my grandads pyjamas in the 60s LOL

I think I'll stick to (not literally... I hope!) the mooncup I bought from Boots yesterday (£19.99) and will give my verdict after using.

Yes, I made a bit of an error in choice! I've always loved paisley patterns, so all mine are paisley. I think they're so pretty. But now every time I see someone in paisley, it reminds me of them, so I doubt I'll ever be able to wear it on the outside again!
