The Mobile Outlet Running Cost Of Unpaid Cashback Claims

I thought I'd start up this thread to see how much money The Mobile Outlet have managed to avoid paying due to their constant changing of T&C's and other vague reasons they choose to give.

I've become so despondent in trying to get anywhere with this company and I feel it's only fair to let the innocent public know what they may well be in for.

I've spent the last 4 months chasing cashback with little response from them. I've gone through forumqueries@themobileoutlet.co.uk with no success...I simply didn't get any response to my concerns. I followed the T&C's that came with the phone, to the letter, and sent my documents via trackable services and feel they have unfairly witheld my money.

I will be contacting Watchdog on this subject, which I think we should all do to stop this stonewalling.

I'll start by giving my total then a running total at the end...let's see how much they owe.

Please only join in if you have exhausted yourself trying to liaise with them.

My Loss: £360.00

Total: £360.00

If you feel you have been done, write to them giving them 14 days to pay up, then start a claim in the small claims court. No use venting your frustration and hitting your head against a brick wall, when the way forward is obvious.

i sent my bill in 14 february by recorded trackable delivery and has been received by them and till today 13 April not got my cashback yet.

i contacted them they said there is nothing wrong with my cashback application and i should get my cheque within next 1 or 2 weeks and that was two weeks ago when i has this comunication with them.

do you really cosider the small claims court (i mean i don't know much about these things and procedures + i read it these forums that there is a charge too)

i watch Watchdog too i think we all need to inform them abot what is hapening i guess there would be many other people like you and me who have a problem with Mobiles Affliates(phone box direct).
and sorry guys i got two contracts so 1 with TMo and 1 with PBD so i unknowingly put this post here (as i know that you guys are discusing TMO)as i made the name correction here.sorry
If electricty comes from electrons, does morality come from morons? :p

Put it this way, if you owned them money they would have the balliffs round asap to collect the debt, plus costs and balliff costs. You're just doing the same legal thing to them.

It'll cost you to send them a recorded delivery letter informing them you want your money or else, time to fill out the online forms, and a recoverable £30 fee.

Failure to get one claim will usually invalidate all future cashbacks in that contract.

Worst thing that could happen is the company closes shop as too many people are getting there cashbacks (which these companies don't want to pay out in the first place)

The reasoning shown in this thread makes no sense.

They don't owe you £360 until they incorrectly claim that your claim and all subsequent ones are invalid.
If you've been communicating with them since January and are only at the "In the pipeline" (whatever that means) stage of going to court, then you have one person to blame.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.
  • I have had the letter stating they will not validate any of my calims so yes they do owe me £360 for breaking their side of the contract. And for the benefit of those not willing to take it to the small claims court DO IT. I started the procedure on Wednesday and I got a phonecall from TMO today stating my claims had been filed away and asked me for a copy of my entire bill from September 2006 so they can send me a cheque. They were in the wrong to deny me my money and their actions show this.

Go get them people. It cost me £50 to get the courts involved. How do I go about getting this reimbursed (if I can)?

They are not obliged to give you the £50 back.

When you received the letter incorrectly stating that your claim was invalid, you should've stopped all communication until they had been notified from the court about the court date.

When you won the case, you would've been entitled to the £50 and the entire years worth of cashback, not the £72 that you will hopefully receive one day soon(After you send them all the information that they already have;) ).

  • This has been giving me a headache for months I guess I was just so pleased that they were willing to finally sort this out for me. I'm not particularly clued up on the court proceedure as this is the first time I've needed to get them involved. They had already received the court summons when they contacted me by telephone. All I can do I guess is keep my fingers crossed (although re this they are getting a little stiff ;) ) that they actually have a moment of conscience ( :rotfl: ) and do the right thing.

What do you advise I do now? I had already sent the relevant paperwork (this is something they didn't request in the T&Cs so they haven't already have it) before I got your latest reply.

To be honest I'd already resigned myself to not getting a penny from them. I was filing the whole thing down to experience when I thought I'd give it one more shot.

I've had no problems with Mobileshop who I also have a cashback scheme with and I am quite dissacppointed that not every company is so committed to paying out monies owed.

    £210!
Can anyone teach me how to start a claim in the small claim court please?
I have plenty of time for the court proceeding, paperwork etc.
Just too angry to be bullied.
