Rubbish! If he wanted to do a runner with the money he would have done so and not be sending out hampers - - albeit struggling with timescale! Not many people would go to Ideal Home exhibition and open shops if a scam

You haven't even ordered anything so why do you keep popping up in this thread if not just to stir?

Totally agree, the Ideal Home Show must have cost Neil over £5000 and the shop is set so nice and welcoming which also costs money. His family go to the local school, people know where he lives, this man is not a scam artist.

I also wonder why the same person keeps coming on this thread just to stir, trying to encourage people to ask for a refund. I am sure Neil will help anyone that is unhappy if they contacted him direct.

This was the first time many of us have used this company and we all have/had different expectations on what we were receiving, I am happy with my hampers and will order from them again.

OMG  I thought this would be a thread about buying hampers a la Farepak which Mr MSE was warning against this morning on BBC Radio Five Live. (stupid name btw).

But no, it's all about confectionery. Other than suggesting a wholesaler may be cheaper I'm getting out of here cos I have diabetes already and it's too sweet for me. :D

It's not about confectionery at all. It's about hampers of various types, some sweet, some savoury and some traditional Christmas hampers. It's also about a small local company trying with the best of intentions to grow, and seemingly biting off more than they can chew, which is leaving some people felling as if they've been cheated, and others having to rush out and buy replacement items because promised deadlines have not been met.

The problem with your comment is that because you haven't bothered to read the thread, what you've assumed is totally incorrect and anyone else reading it could get the wrong impression.

No one is forcing anyone to place any orders!.
Just a note to the wise, Neil is in talks with his lawyers about people posting here who "are trying to take his company down". TBH i don't blame him, if you have a problem do what i did & SPEAK to the company involved as opposed trying to guess what might happen.

In reality, if a company provides very good service, the likelihood is that people will tell one or two others, whereas if a company gives bad service, people usually tell everyone.

I don't believe anyone on here is deliberately "trying to take his company down", but the bad publicity will certainly not do his future orders any good.
  • Mine have all arrived :D

I know others haven't been too happy but i am over the moon. The cheese ones are lovely as are the honey pot ones.

So from me a massive thank you to Neil. I admit i was concerned about this deal but i take it all back. I Just hope next year he doesn't bite of more than he can chew.

    Thanks Lolly3

Xmas pudding is 350g not 454g
    Jam is 113g not 340
Lemon curd is 113g as well
    No ginger biscuits
    shortbread total 160
and iced cake normal size in shops ( no weight on it)
Tried to upload picture but no very good with technology :D

It just seems so small for what was advertised so will have to pack it out a bit, lovely hamper cases though. Should of thought it would too good to be true, but what should i expect at £55.00 :rotfl:

Forgot to add the other 2 were as advertised but no Port Chutney but Onion chutney instead.

    Thanks again
big difference in the weight of the jam and lemon curd there from what was advertised
  • I have been told that my christmas hamper won't be going out till monday next week and should be with me by wednesday. Mine was the christmas hamper ordered back in August. £50 instead of £100, its in a 18 inch wicker basket As long as mine gets to me before 23rd December I am ok.

Glad to hear people are happier with their hampers :)
I need to start saving so I plan to save £2 a week to start with:beer:

Galaxy Hot Drinking Chocolate 225g 150g
    1 Ripple 33g
    2x Minstrels 42g,

Delivery will be first week in December arrived 13th December

Well, mine came and I've listed the differences.
'Just add cheese' looks good and only one had a ripped poly wrapping.
The mini hampers themselves are OK, one sort has a handle on the top and fixed straps, the other design has removable straps.

Sadly, there are significant differences in the contents. I was not impressed with the way that in both 'cheese' trays the Onion chutney jar's label was not visible while the basket was wrapped, so I thought we were getting the port chutney.

First time, probably the last time, I've ordered :(

Added: post 431 had mince pies attached to the lid of the Xmas hamper, post 450 had brandy butter inside. I'm emailing - just trying not to sound like I'm whinging.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Am i the only one not worried about her hampers? THis company has clearly bitten off more than they can chew but i'm confidient they will arrive and be lovely even if there not completely as discribed they will have similar value (a few of mine i've asked for random bits that he can make up as he goes along.) As far as i'm concerned people are receiving and mine aren't even expected yet.

Candy i hope when everyones hampers do arrive you will admit you were wrong and delete your older posts, mse is a very popular website, if you typed in The norfork hamper this is the 3rd like so will be vied by many when looking for info on the company it would be a shame if when they clicked threw to this they saw injustified negative feedback from someone who hasn't even purchased a deal.

I'm not concerned about my hampers either - still looking forward to them arriving! They'll be here before Christmas which is fine for me.
