    Ellieo,

Unlike most on here i have not been worried about getting a hamper and following on from a link posted on here obtaining a direct email was easy,

I dropped him a polite email and he has responded.

I endorse what others have said. He may have replied to your polite email, but after the horse had bolted so to speak. What about the people who WERE worried about hampers arriving who spent three weeks on Twitter chasing him up and also emailing and phoning him? He chose to ignore each and every one of us, and now you're trying to make it sound like we were too heavy handed and a simple polite "please" would have done the trick. Are you for real?

Not at all. He has made a !!!!-up.

But he is just one man...

If the one man has to spend time replying to emails the same man cannot be trying to get out as many hampers as possible. Its the pitfall of a small business.

    So would you rather:
    A) Him reply to your email stating he is working on the order and he hopes to have it to you before xmas
    B) He doesnt reply and moves his butt to actually try and get it to you before xmas?

Is this aimed at implying i am indeed Neil?

Also if you Google Norfolk Hamper Company then this thread turns up at result number 2 so hardly a rocket scientist required to find it.

Not at all, I know that you post on another thread. But I don't know you, and by your own admission you didn't order any hampers so I have no idea why you have inserted yourself into this debacle.

Actually, I'd have preferred option C) He realises that he's taken too much on and takes extra staff on to cope instead of burying his head in the sand and letting it all go to !!!!.

I'd rather C) he knew his limits and didn't take orders for 1000+ hampers that he didn't have a hope of delivering to the timescales HE set, and that he could communicate with honesty (and a basic level of literacy) and a GENUINE APOLOGY to customers as soon as he realised he'd fooked it all up.

I agree with this, I would never intentionally use UKMail as they are about as reliable as Yodel!

If my memory serves me correct, he tweeted that he could not get on to MSE (was blocked or something) a few weeks ago when the "policing" of this thread kicked off. He also tweeted asking someone to get a message on here to candi222 to inform her that the police were monitoring her. This is before it all this escalated beyond what it became. I have contacted him politely (even to the point I have been tweeted by someone commenting on how nice I was the other day whilst others were on the verge of meltdown) so if politeness was all that was required to get a reply, mine was due weeks ago. And it is clear that he has a family, due to the fact it's plastered all over here and the company registration details, so hardly the work of Poirot.

He had "employed" extra staff, so one of them could have taken his place for packing so he could have replied to people.

All this boils down to poor customer service, but manners cost nothing. Sorry but if I had spoke to my customers in my job, the way some were who were affected by this issue, I would be first in line down the jobcentre in the New Year. I am also a firm believer in actions speak louder than words, so an action plan is not required. All he needs to do is read an email or message, and do what the customer is asking, which at a guess will be to hit the refund button.
