Hes a person not a corporate entity. he doesnt have a PR team to deal with FAcebook, Twitter and this was his business . he may have seen it goign tits up and worried/panicked

I agree with this a bit, however it was compounded by the blatant lies he told, and the way he kept insisting it was everyone else's fault, and the threats of police action. He even carried on with the threats when it was abundantly clear he had been caught out. This is why I believe he is stupid rather than just a bad businessman.

I would feel sorry for him if he hadn't ruined is many peoples Christmas leaving them without the goods they paid for and without heh money to buy more. He has been rude on twitter ignored emails kept people's money and now closed the buisness for several weeks. If he had been honest and refunded people's money ranger than make a half arsed attempt to send out badly packaged hampers with missing goods then more people would probably feel sorry for him
