  • It was picked up on 21/12/12 next day delivery and it was UKmail
That's good news then for those still waiting , at least there was still a collection yesterday and he has honoured the fact he said he would pay extra for weekend delivery.

Is there anyone else who is unhappy with the coverage in the newspaper and the Trading Standards response? They have made it seem like a local company with one or two problems. No mention at all of the constant stream of lies that spew from this loathsome cretin's mouth (or Twitter feed to be more precise.) The one and only reason they shut the shop was because they were scared of cheated customers confronting them, and the one and only reason they stopped taking emails was so that they could ignore the hundreds of cancellation emails whilst continuing to send out substandard rubbish that isn't even packed into their so called bespoke hampers anymore.

Hello Max im greatfull for any coverage BUT saying that i tend to agree with you it does so far seem one sided lets hope they do a follow up when into the new year this fiasco is still going on - cos cant see it being resolved by then ! tc hunni x

One thing Getting me is the ONLY 60 ORDERS UNFULFILLED

if it was only 60 those should be very easily identifiable by NHC and surely they should have contacted those people to offer an explanation / refund

Congrats to all of the people who have received hampers so far.

I, too, have been a lurker on this thread - waiting for 16 more hampers ordered on September 2nd...from the Norwich area. So I can confirm that being local or ordering early doesn't necessarily make a difference, to those that were wondering!

Neil got back to me promptly about a week ago with a nice response when I asked to change my delivery address (I was going to my family's for Christmas - I'd originally planned to send hampers on to people), but since then I've heard nothing.

The reason I write is because of the tweet which was posted on here a while back:

TheNorfolkHamperCo ‏@TheNHCompany We are doing our very best for you, someone has already said their hampers their are people starving and homeless out their you will get them

I've been umming and ahhing as to whether to retaliate to this, but the irony is that some of my hampers WERE for the 'starving and homeless'. I have worked in homeless centres for years, including Christmas day. By not sending out my hampers, he is actually depriving them of these treats (luckily, I went out and replaced these....although these were the only gifts I could afford to replace so my in-laws now have nothing and it's too late to send their hampers on if they arrive).

All of this aside, though, I think it's entirely inappropriate and patronising for someone to write something like this on a public forum, particularly when their business essentially makes its money out of luxury food-stuffs. It also implies that by not being 'starving and homeless', the needs of most of his customers aren't that important in the grand scheme of things. If this is really how he feels, then perhaps he would be better off working in a more charitable field... As it stands, it's a very contentious position for him to take, given that he is legally required to adhere to the deadlines and product descriptions that he imposed upon himself.

I just can't help but think that he is keen to paint anyone the victim - him because he is working long hours, the homeless because they are starving, the courier company struggling to fulfill orders - as long as it is not the customer. The customers (and by this I also include all of those people that we all hoped to pass hampers on to) are the only 'true' victims of these delays, though, both legally and morally. Until the company accept this fundamental point of difference, I don't see anything changing in the way they treat their customers.

    Just my two cents.

Anyway, here's hoping for a delivery over the next few days. Good luck, all!
  • Had you Twittered / emailed him anything to particularly provoke him into sending this stuff (and all NICE stuff) out by next day delivery please?

I had alternated between being nice to him and being rather shirty when nothing was forthcoming!
The last few tweets were on the shirty side lets say lol
