The Norfolk hamper company thread

P.S Only found this thread after remembering the generic email that I got from Neil the other day talking about negative press etc. Suddenly dawned on me that there might be a thread here I hadn't seen (don't tend to venture beyond Grabbit)

I am really sad to hear about all this stress people are going through. I know how sad I'd be if I hadn't got mine and mine weren't specifically for presents.

I don't really know what to say to all of this. I live down the road from the shop. I ordered a set of hampers (6 I think plus a bonus one and I ordered 2 of these, went halves with my mum).
I've been collecting mine just because I was excited to see what was in them and I've had no issues. My mum and MIL also ordered a different Christmas deal (3 hampers each) and those arrived by post last week.
I called into the shop on Wednesday as Neil had mentioned that we were owed a couple of jams from a hamper (hadn't noticed as they were full and lovely). The shop was closed but he opened the door to me. The shop was covered in hampers being assembled.
I hope you guys get your orders, I do believe that they are a genuine company who are trying there best, I think that maybe because they are such a small company they've been a bit overwhelmed or over-estimated things?
That said that doesn't take away your rights or stop you feeling disappointed. Keeping everything crossed that they come through for you!
Neil has taken on too much; way too much.
He should have accepted a couple of hundred orders; not a few thousand orders.
As a result, the majority of us have received sub-standard hampers or no hampers whatsoever! He has disappointed hundreds of customers and made their Christmas run-up a misery. He is also impacting on his own health and of his staff; working everyday for the past few weeks with little or no sleep is not a good idea.
I look after 10 patients on a ward and I find that pretty tough and demanding! If I accepted any more patients then that would have a knock-on effect for everyone. I wouldn't be able to provide the best healthcare to my patients.
I can only assume that Neil saw the ££££££s flooding in and decided to deal with the consequences later.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

Oh I know it isn't acceptable. I'm not sticking up for the company. They should have contacted people sooner if they couldn't fulfil orders and just refunded people or something.0 -

Am happy to go by tomorrow, I need to pick up a couple of extra jams that I said I'd pick up anyway0 -
Tbh IMHO those who have collected their hampers have received far superior hampers to those that have been posted. Obviously I've only the photos posted here to go on but he can't exactly ignore a disgruntled customer in his shop as easily as he can ignore emails and telephone calls.
Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

So is everyone whose hamper is not as described going to return it for a refund?0
