The Norfolk hamper company thread

This is not aimed at anyone in particular but it seems really unfair that some people are receiving what they expected whilst others are getting substitutes and missing items. I am not pleased to hear other people are getting the jars of hot chocolate as advertised whilst I received a large sachet! Don't get me wrong, I'm glad others are happy with what they got but it just seems unfair. RANT OVER (for now).0

I'm gobsmacked, no UK Mail tracking but mine arrived 10 minutes ago:j:j:j
Had a quick look and i'm quite happy, the wicker hampers themselves are lovely, will add something to the little Christmas one ( i received the 3+3 free) After Eights or whatever. The Galaxy one has the drinking chocolate in a jar, with lots of little bars too. The Just add cheese contents look great as per photo's on here, althought the sellophane on both are slightly ripped. Very glad they have arrived obviously. Hope you all receive yours x
aww pleased for u hun
that's the deal im waiting for too so hopeful mine will be here soon too0 -

There must be plenty of other customers from elsewhere too, both ordering on line and in shop. How many hampers would have to be made up and dispatched I wonder in order to get to this position?
I'm waiting on 5 hampers, 4 of them aren't too important on dates so long as I have them by monday, although thats less than ideal, but the fifth one is due to be delivered by me on friday this week. Don't think its going to happen.
Maybe I'll do that head count. What else is there to do at this time of year? :rotfl:
Difficult to add the numbers accurately, but from the posts since I did my wondering (!) , I reckon there's about 55 of us here waiting for about 200 hampers to be delivered before Christmas alone.0 -
You can add me to the headcount - I'm waiting on 6 that I need by Saturday and there is nothing on it's way to me yet.0

Well, will wonders never cease?
My hampers FINALLY turned up today (3+3).
I actually needed them as gifts to hand out earlier than Christmas, just like many others - as it is, some have turned up too late now and I have had to replace!
The Just Add Cheese ones are nice - but the cellophane on both has been ripped a fair bit. No bows or ribbon on the packaging, and I can live with that, but I will have to re-wrap!
The Galaxy Hampers - not as good as expected, I will be going out to buy a few more bits to add to them.
And the Christmas Hampers - pretty rubbish if I am honest! I will definitely be adding to this one, as the box looks a bit sad and empty as it is and I would be embarrassed to give as a gift.
In my dealings with the NH, initially all was fine, very polite, quick responses etc. Not so in later conversations.....
I phoned 2 weeks ago to find out when my hampers would be delivered
"They will definitely be with you by 14th"
14th came and in the early evening I phoned again...."they were sent yesterday, it's not my fault if they don't turn up, I am not responsible for the courier"
Was promised a call back with a tracking number....NOTHING!
Waited until yesterday and phoned them again..."oh they're going out today" I then asked why then, had Neil told me that these had been sent on Thursday 13th and why had he lied about calling me back with a tracking number?
His rather rude response to this was...
Lie about having been previously sent - "It was ticked off on my list" -no wonder he did not give me a (non existant) tracking number!
About not getting back to me (which really hacked me off) - "I am busy, I forgot, have you never forgot anything?" (not forgottEN).
Rude, unprofessional and looking to blame anyone and everyone for his shortcomings for the fact that he has taken on more than he is able to cope with.
The baskets themselves are nice and because of this am I going to say they are more or less value for money, but good customer service and reliability is key to business success AND THIS WAS CLEARLY LACKING!
EDIT: Hope that everyone else gets their order very soon!0 -
He's doing well at keeping off twitter, isn't he? :T
I'd be more than a bit miffed if a hamper was going to arrive on Xmas eve when it had been promised for the beginning of December. Does he think people have nothing else to do with their time and can stay in on Xmas eve?
Would UKMail leave a parcel with a neighbour or in a 'safe' place?0 -

According to UK Mail's website, only if instructed to do so by the sender....
Can you deliver to my neighbour/leave in a safe place?
The delivery instructions are provided to us by your sender. If you wish to change the delivery instructions please contact your sender to see if this is possible. They will then communicate any changes agreed to us.0 -

I'm glad people are getting their hampers, even if they are not quite what was advertised/expected.0
