I spoke to the dell sales team approx 1-2 hours ago and the guy promised to phone back within 10 minutes...................still waiting. I phoned again and got speaking to a girl from Northern Ireland who told me about the team sorting this whole mess out and the fact that I wil be offered 1 of several upgrades on offer depending on my needs and she believes that this will be at no extra cost because the problem is with Dell. She told me that they are to advise customers of this process and then e-mail the guy in charge of the team who will either contact me personally or assign someone else to do it, she apologised profusely and assured me that I will hear today.

It was the most informative conversation that I have had with customer services and I am now happy that this will be resolved quickly now 3 weeks after my initial order, don't lose heart people!

Despite being given an initail delivery date of 5 May and then 11 May, I checked this morning and my laptop has been despatched.

After my promise of a call yesterday (which never materialised) I have called again this morning and there is a team STILL calling people regarding these orders (phew)
I actually spoke to someone I could understand today and who was sincere (rather than reading from a customer service template)
Thank the lord DELL still has people in Ireland answering calls

I had a phone call from Dell yesterday saying that my order had been delayed but has now shipped. They had my correct name and everything, yet I've no idea what order they are talking about. I've received everything I've ordered. (Didn't order the laptop as I've already got a Dell Inspiron which I'm trying to sell!) If they send me a free laptop, I'll be happy. It can sit alongside the PB Easynote 6100 that PC World have yet to charge me for.
