Clamping signs removed

On 3rd October, I went to my dentist's surgery, where they have a customer car park at the rear.

There were signs in the car park, threatening clamping of unauthorised vehicles (No PPC, no SIA number, no mention of release fees or telephone numbers, so completely illegal before 01/10 anyway).

I pointed out to the receptionist that it was now illegal to clamp on private land, and they could get a fine of up to £5000 or 6 months inside if Trading Standards saw those signs. (I made up that last bit).

Today I went back for a couple of fillings, and was pleased to see that all the signs had been taken away. :D

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

    LOL!

With porkie pies like that you should work for CP Plus or any of the other bottom feeding scum PPCs.

    Well done.

So the next time you can't park in there because it's full of cars from all and sundry - you'll be really happy :D
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Perhaps it will be full of cars with a legitimate reason to be there , and without the threats of modern day highway men robbing you of money they do not deserve to have.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

:p Yep, just like all the other car parks where clampers have now been chased out - how on earth are we coping without the knuckledragging scumbags?!

There's one small side private road with garages near where I work, used to have clamping signs. Now it doesn't - and I have not seen a single car parked on the entry road nor by the garages, at all, since the crims were kicked out. And it's a rare private road in the middle of a Residential Parking Scheme so could have been overrun if your theory was correct.

But in the real world, nothing has changed; people were not waiting to take advantage, that was the agenda of the clampers only. Good riddance!

But surely it's been absolute chaos in Scotland for the last decade or so ;)

Somebody stated out on CAG "they don't have the same traffic problems and traffic density in Scotland as we do in England".

Presumably he's never been to those tiny villages called Glasgow and Edinburgh.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Is there a particular e-mail BPA/DVLA to report pcm(south) for still having clamping signs up at a shopping centre?

    Only the BPA I think.

Soggy newspaper across the buttocks is probably the worst they'd get (or best, depending on your point of view, and I live in Brighton so I'm not going to knock that kind of thing).
    Je Suis Cecil.
  • Cheers, I suppose that no-one has yet determined if a sign threatening to clamp is as illegal as the act.

    :T:rotfl:

If it's the same firm, PCM (UK) Ltd are still BPA AOS members so if they have not removed a sign that only mentions clamping (not fake PCNs as well) they could get sanction points against them...it can all add up so is always worth a complaint!
