The point I am making is that this is actually an incredible claim.

Ah, is that your point. You see, when I read:

And, just to clarify, there is NOTHING in SoGA which requires a retailer to compensate an unhappy customer at all. The goods themselves aren't faulty.

I thought that was your point.

Just about to say the same.

Whats wrong with washing it with hot water and washing liquid. Then give it a spray with Dettol antibac spray, let it dry and give it a rinse.

By the time you have taken it back, fought for getting it swopped and then drove home, you will have lost any price difference you made in the first place.

I would worry more if you had found a roasted mouse in it !
  • This hasnt happened at manufacture. This has been returned by another customer and not checked before resale. Argos appear to be notorious at it. I once returned a surround sound system (within 7 days, purely because we needed the money back-impulse buy :D) and a few weeks later we decided to buy it again as we came into a small amount of money. When we we got it home and set it up, open the disc tray and hey presto, there's that CD i'd been looking everywhere for. Couldnt believe it. We thought this was hilarious but in your situation I too would be a little horrified
Also my brand new washing machine from argos came with dirty brown water residue inside !
