Tefal Actifry - Something Extra in the box

Plus you do not actually know that the manufacturer packed it. It could easily have been packed by an intermediary.
It is still the responsibility of the company that sold it to you.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
I'm only asking about compensation as it's not a faulty product, it's something really unhygienic and now I'm without the product until I can get it replaced. No it won't make me feel less grossed out, but it's the hassle and expense (petrol, time etc) to have to take it back. The store isn't exactly close.
Although I don't think they have to give you anything, I would certainly make them aware of the petrol and possible parking costs's you've incurred, and suggest a goodwill gesture for that.0 -
I plan to take it back to Argos tonight, but I am also taking a picture and writing a letter/emailing in a complaint also.0

Are you serious? OP has already got to convince them that the Tefal Actifry contained this 'foreign body'. If he/she THEN starts banging on about his/her time, inconvenience and petrol costs to return the item I wouldn't be surprised if he/she were thrown out of the shop without even a replacement.
And, just to clarify, there is NOTHING in SoGA which requires a retailer to compensate an unhappy customer at all. The goods themselves aren't faulty.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

What on earth does recission mean? You've made that up:rotfl:Or do you mean rescission?
Seriously, it's SoGA and there are sufficient remedies under SoGA when goods are faulty. These goods aren't (presumably) faulty. It's going to be the OPs word against the vendors; and I don't think muddying the waters by demanding compensation over and above the cost of the goods is sensible. Following your advice, in this instance, is going to get the OP thrown out of the shop.
And what has Matt Damon (the man who plays Bourne;))to do with it?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

So, you admit you were wrong but to deflect attention you'll mention spelling mistakes rather than your incorrect 'clarification earlier.0 -

Don't know what you mean about me being wrong; rescission of a contract is not usually a remedy applied to consumer purchases. Remedy is usually sought under SoGA or under the store's own T&Cs which will offer remedies at least equivalent to SoGA.
The point I am making is that this is actually an incredible claim. The OP is going to have to convince the store that this blood-and-hair-covered rag was actually IN the box when he/she opened it. That's going to be one interesting conversation.
I have never, ever heard of a store refunding for faulty goods and throwing in the cost of parking, petrol and time. You, on the other hand, probably have.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
