  • I too am disappointed with the UP TO 40% that I was told by my local store. I am not doing the 6:30 run as I feel a bit wicked dragging the kids out of bed. Will have a look after 9, Lets hope online is better than previous years.

I usually stock up at this, but not this year. Buying bits through the year means I will have money in my pocket this Christmas.:D
I think that the retailers are getting savvy to MSE etc sites reporting the sales.
Their aim is to make money. They hope you will buy other stuff.
SO be wise and CHECK what you buy afterwards- see if it is cheaper elsewhere - and TAKE IT BACK! :money:
There were a few things last year cheaper in Argos and on Amazon, with Mothercares price match there's savings to be had if you want to find them ;)

GOOD LUCK FOR ALL THOSE INVOLVED IN THE MORNING SCRUM!

Useful post - last year (or was it the year before) when the on line sale failed to materialise ...... I managed to get lots on Amazon as they 50% reduced most of their lego thinking they were matching a competitior online. Only lasted about 10 hours before they cottoned on .. but better than the non on line sainsbury sale and lack of lego in the stores when I got there. Good point shelliehollie. Need a few windows open - wonder if John Lewsi will be getting nervous and offerring deals too - its beginning to feel like Xmas... Happy shopping peeps!

Just got an email saying it starts tomorrow and its up to 50% off, it's got a link that just sends me to the toy page, doesn't say what will be reduced but shows a picture but not sure if that's what will go into the sale or not! This pleases me that it is online too as our store is shut as from tomorrow (as they are doing a refit) so the fact that some will be online suits me perfectly :)

Edit: just seen at bottom of email it says -
    Terms and conditions:
Selected stores and availability. Excludes centrals and locals. Whilst stocks last. Offer ends 6 November 2012. Maximum 6 of the same toy/item per customer. Offer applies to online purchases made from 24 October to 6 November 2012. Online delivery charges apply. Offers start 24 October online and instore.

Loving the fact it now says limit of 6 items of the same toy/item, should hopefully stop the ebayers a bit!! :j
  • Just been to check my sainsbos out and they have a bit more than normal, but not loads! Hope they put more out overnight :D

Been to check my local out...lots of activity and boxes of toys being brought out. Checked opening times and was informed that a selection will be 50% off but most would be 25% or 1/3 off :( all the Lego, imaginext still in main aisle and some random stuff on the end of aisles with no SELs I expect these will be the half off ones.
  • Anyone in Swansea know if they've moved the toy aisle from near the back of the store on the right hand side? Just realised the last time I went was the sale day last year! Cheers :-)

Just back from my Sainsburys and the Lego is definitely only a third off. Not worth it in my opinion. They were emptying shelves ready for stocking up, one of the staff said it's nowhere near as good as other years. I saw some shelf plans on the end of the plinths, that's how I know the Lego is a third off, as was the majority of the stuff we saw, the half price toys looks like big cuddly toys.

I certainly will not be getting up at 5am for this sale. I've been to the last 3 :(

I've been to the last three too, I might pop in after i've dropped the children at school (I'm sure it's normally half term when they do it as I used go as soon as dp got in from his night shift) but I won't be buying anything if it is not a decent reduction whereas I used to be able to sort my nan out for the younger children and get the bulk of their gifts from us too, what a shame as I was looking forward to it!

Seems a shame even the threads on here and hot deals aren't as busy and excited as last yr I love these threads usually with all the excitement then people posting in their cars in the car parks lol was a riot to read last couple yrs. I'm not after masses of stuff tho just little bits for family kids etc so still worth a look. Maybe it will make people a little calmer instore ;)

Countdown ........16 hours to go lol

Popped into the Sainburys opposite work, they had increased the toy aisle, but mainly with what I presume is their own brand baby stuff.

Most branded stuff seemed to have reduced in size. I start work early tomorrow, so will pop in before around 7.30, but have picked loads of stuff throughout the year. So not really too bothered this year.
