Could I put a book between my bed and bed mattress?

The thing is, I have 3 walls touching my bed.
plus cuboards were put up just above the bed after it was moved in.
Also the headboard has been properly nailed on. I would just lay the other way but there's a crappy shelf that's been up at the end which only leavesa gap of about the height of a size 8 foot between it and the mattress. FML

Be aware that anyone who spots there is a book between your matress and bed will assume you have put it there to keep it hidden, with all the assumptions that would go with that...

Nope. I got alot of neck pain on my old mattress and now I'm becoming a bit OCD about beds
Oh for goodness sake - just get a new bed. There's nothing money saving about using something that is, according to you, damaging your health / job prospects.
What do you expect us to say? It's a really old bed and it's broken... you don't need the opinion of strangers on what to do... you just need to go to a store, try out a few beds, check the measurements carefully and then choose the most comfortable within your budget. What is left for debate?:hello:0 -
Put the mattress on the floor, simples!0

I'm not convinced that the bed is going to make it out of the door, given the description of the room!hardpressed wrote: »Put the mattress on the floor, simples!0 -

There is not space. My room is made up of a desk and a bed and a few shelves here and there...0 -

My room is tiny. I don't even know how you could get another bed in here. There is no space!0 -

If you type in 'Hypnia cheap memory foam mattress' into ebay.co.uk you'll get the mattress I got last week. Have no idea how good it is.
OP you need a new bed. People are giving you advice and you're meeting it with ifs and buts.
Go onto Gumtree/freecycle and find yourself a new, second hand cheap bed frame. You've already got a new mattress, so all you need is a new frame (which is the bain of your problem/life if it's costing you jobs. drama queen! :rotfl:)
You should have got a second hand frame in the first place, rather than get a new mattress. Then see if that worked and then got a memory foam topper (what I done when my mattress was beginning to meet the end of it's life. I sleep amazingly now)
See also. Where the hell do you live? Your bedroom sounds HORRID. I couldn't deal with a tiny bedroom/box cupboard to sleep in.0
