WARNING coca-cola glasses are dangerous!

I haven't read the whole thread (but I will), but just wanted to chime in that those Coca Cola glasses (if it's the ones I think they are, the shape modelled on the iconic coke bottle, those freebies you get in MacDonalds et al?) are really rubbish anyway.

I've had them in a hot basin of water, just doing the dishes, and they've shattered. So it doesn't surprise me at all..they're pretty fragile.

Mum had a load of them and ended up throwing most of them out..they just don't last.

I've smashed a few on the floor but none have ever shattered as i've used them (thankfully).

To, ahem, go back to the original point of this thread...

We don't bother taking the coke glasses from McDonalds any more. We leave them on the table for somebody to pinch if they want them.

They do break very easily which isn't good when 3/4 of the household are so clumsy And also because they're such a pain in the backside to clean and dry properly.

Ironically the original point of the thread wasn't about McDonald's glasses. That hijacked the thread(I'm probably partly responsible)

See, we can all use big letters.

Plastic cups have been used for many year without poisoning people.
I always used them as a child and when camping for hot drinks and they have never done me any harm.

Well, apart from making be refer to walloping fish.

I regularly use my free mcdonalds coke glasses, at least once a day, maybe more and haven't had a single one break unless i've dropped it or knocked it against something. Its the nature of glass to be fragile, drop a nice shiny iphone and watch the cracks appear!!! If you're scared to use them simply take em to your local bottle bank and recycle them. The when Mcdonalds do another glass promotion, refuse the glass when you collect your meal. Simples!!!

But as goater78 reminded us the OP wasn't talking about free McDonald's glasses in the first place.
It was a free glass from Coke Zone (which may or may not be the same ones they give away in McDonalds anyway).

the OP DID mention mcdonalds coke glasses and my reply was just to point out to all the scaremongers that I hadn't had a problem with them
