WARNING coca-cola glasses are dangerous!

Whereas others, including myself, have had the exact opposite experience. So a handful of people saying that their Coke glasses broke does not mean that all batches of them ever made are dangerous and should be recalled. If that was the case we would all be drinking out of plastic beakers.
Im just saying i would not take the risk in using them now. I never mentioned recalling them i just said i would not use them again after having first hand experience in them breaking0 -

Quite so. Maybe just a single batch is defective. Maybe half a dozen batches. We just don't know
Coca Cola company may not currently know. Nor will they ever know if they are not made aware of the problem. Yet on this thread we've seen it suggested many times that there's no reason to complain. So that's one point. Coca Cola company need to know
Then, as you yourself have pointed out, "a handful of people saying that their Coke glasses broke", with the original poster warning us that her child was very nearly injured quite badly, should we not at least respectfully listen to the warning?
If anyone wants to continue using these glasses, fine, there choice. No need to pick on someone that's only trying to help you all.
Maybe on receiving RandyRos's complaint, Coca Cola company will launch an investigation and recall all these glasses. Maybe they will find that only a small minority of units are defective. Maybe they will choose to ignore the matter completely, but in the meantime, you lot have no more evidence that they are safe than that they are not.
And for those that have posted positively nasty responses to RandyRos over this issue, I hope the opportunity never arises for anyone to say "I told you so".0 -
If only everyone was as noble! Forums would be a much nicer place for those that are somewhat more sensitive.
Hey! Be careful!!! My poor old head can't take the weight of a halo.
Fifty years in business didn't quite make me more sensitive but I've learned to have a bit more compassion. It doesn't stop me from still fighting consumer cases in court, though! :rotfl:0 -

There's also nothing wrong with others posting to say they have never had a problem with Coke glasses. Its also worth noting that other glasses break too! Its just easier to highlight problems with glasses from a company with such a big profile (see also Ikea).
As for the 'nasty' responses, the only ones I've seen have come from the OP and one other in defence of the OP!!0 -
But saying that they will never buy Coke products again is rather over reacting and didn't need to be posted. Its that kind of thing that attracts the answers we see.
Really?
So, what we're saying is that because a mother is upset after seeing her child traumatised and nearly badly injured, so after what happened she said that she would never buy Coca Cola products again, this justifies the nasty, insensitive responses we've seen so far? Wow. I don't know what to say to that.
There is so much tension and hostility on this forum, its unbelievable. I still can't get past the idea that someone posts a warning, and gets effectively jumped on as a result.0 -
If you are going in McDonalds anyway to buy your £4 meal then it is true that you've come away with a "free" glass regardless of whether part of the cost is in the meal because you haven't spent any extra money but you now have an item with an advert on it reminding you, your family and any guests that you should be buying "Coca-Cola" which is worth far more to the advertiser than the pennies it cost to give you a glass.
The other point of the glasses are to get you to buy more of a product than you usually would so if you eat McDonalds 4 times in a week instead of once just to get 4 glasses then yes you have paid for the glass by parting with more money than you usually would. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
There is a strong assumption that the OP is after compensation. Based on the fact that they have made a complaint, are not happy to wait 5-7 days for a callback and have instead decided to send pictures and a letter to coca-cola. I may be cynical but it sounds like they are after something.
If it was just a warning to coca-cola about their products then that has already been done.
To be fair don't most people want compensation if things go wrong? Doesn't mean they wanted the incident to happen. I am not saying that is the case here, but if it was me I would certainly want something.. That doesn't in anyway detract from the seriousness. Also, the Op could have just contacted the company, kicked up a fuss and got compo without even posting on here to warn others!I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
Good grief there are some very strange people here! This thread has grown and how interesting to see that A NUMBER OF PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THESE GLASSES SHATTERING.Thats just the people on this forum, and those that have ventured to this thread. There are probably lots more out there. I am sorry but something so serious as a glass shattering SHOULD mean immediate action. Its not as it it is a plastic cup that is breaking, is it? I can't believe how some people behave on here? Are the women on the wrong part of their menstrual cycle and the men not getting any or what?I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0
