  • ha ha cos f they agree to give me back around 2K then demand back the remaining 8K i owe im screwed!

it would be good to win the rugby tomorrow, you never know, usually though best idea is to go to the pub to watch it and get so p****d that you cant remember the result as its usually upsetting :-(
  • Does anyone know if once a bank has 'sold' an account to a dca it is no longer anything to do with them. I'm thinking about claiming from the banks that have basically washed their hands of me.
One day I will be debt free and fat free!:grinheart
  • hiya

not too sure but suggest u have a look at the consumer action group forum sure i've seen it discussed over there but cant remember what was said!
  • can i claim them back ??

i have a debt of 26k with them that i am payng £1 token payments as a result of the CAB making offers . i have a lot of charges as a result of non payment of loan and over the limit and late payment and things , they have closed my joint account and my sons young savers account and transfered the money to my account that has the debt , im not happy that they have touched my sons account but there was only 16p in it so not gonna kick up a fuss about it .

how do i claim any charges back if i cvan that is?

can i claim from credit cards? and i have a catalogue account taht has been passed to a dca and they are charging £24 a month admin charge is this right ???
  • Have a read of the previous posts but I would assume if you make a claim on your bank they would expect any reclaim to go towards paying off the debt.

    Same with credit cards/cataloque companies.
  • Hi,

Does anyone know if you are able to reclaim charges etc if you are in a debt management scheme and your bank and credit cards are with this scheme?

    Many thanks,
  • You can but please read the above posts and let the debt management scheme know should you decide to go ahead.
  • Hi!

I had 3 accounts with HSBC, which I defaulted on - no CCJ's as I reached an agreement with the Debt collectors - who are owned by HSBC - not that they tell you this of course!

I'm not on an official DMP or in an IVA, I feel in I'm in a tricky middle ground.

I would like to claim back the charges and use them to pay off my debts, but I am very concerned that the bank will pass on the fact I have made this claim to the debt collection agency and I will be pressured to pay more or face court action.

Can anyone please give some advice? :)
  • They might or they might not. If the company holding the debt now is owned by HSBC there is every chance they may be told by HSBC and/or HSBC may want any money claimed passed to the debt collector if your claim is successful.

I really don't know a definative answer for you.
  • the only advice is wait and see what happens to me! i'd say im mildly confident it will all work out alright, i have typed my first demand to barclays and it will get printed and posted at work tomorrow so should hear back by 14 days from them recieving it.
