Shearers Ugg Australia advice

Hi Guys I'm hoping for some advice..
My sister bought me some 'Shearers Ugg Originals' boots when she was in Australia and posted them back to me. She bought them in June, they arrived in September. I wore them round the house for a few hours, only to find that the stitching had come apart on the side. I paid £115 for these boots, and other than this stitching issue they seem good quality boots (not the cheap fakes you often see).
We've emailed the company using the contact details provided on their website and got this response:
[FONT="]"Would you please email some photos of you Ugg boots to us, then we can arrange the replace with your purchased received. Thank you."
So we sent pictures the next day, and now we can't get another response from them. That email was received on the 25th Sept. We've emailed regularly since but still no response.
I'm planning on basically spamming them until they reply to us, but does anyone know if we have any rights here? My sister still has the receipt, and the boots haven't been worn beyond around two hours indoors. I don't want to pay to get them repaired until I have no other option..
I'm not really sure where we stand and hoping you MSE'ers might be able to point me in the right direction!
Thanks in advance all

Well they will just block you then.
You are dealing with an Australian company in Australia UNDER Australian Law.
Easiest thing to do would be to get them re-stitched in the UK and put it down to experience. If they are not talking to you now this will only cost you a lot of time and hassle, you will need to pay postage both ways in all likelihood.0 -

.
I was under the impression it was similar rights to ours? Does anyone know anything about this?
It's just frustrating really after my sister went out of her way to get them and post them for me. And after the expense of course!
I was prepared to have to have them repaired, although I'm not confident in how well that can be done in this case.
Ah well...0 -

Well in that case it seems you probably know more about Australian consumer laws than most people on this forum.
Can you perhaps find an Australian version of moneysavingexpert.com?
Looking for something on the Australian Courts service might come in handy too.0 -
I might be wrong! I doubt it was a reliable source!
That's a good idea though..I'll have a look this evening!0 -

Is that copy-paste of their email? The grammar is appalling - even for an Aussie. Are you sure it's not a fakes company?

Yeah I copied and pasted - I hope I have better grammar! To be honest, I'm suspicous whether it is actually a genuine Ugg company but it's confusing because the term Ugg is a generic term for sheepskin boots there so I'm not entirely sure what would make them 'genuine' and what wouldn't?0

Well, considering "Shearers Ugg Originals" leads to http://www.uggoriginal.com.au/en/ and that site is on the list of fraudulent websites on the official (Decker) Ugg website: http://www.uggaustralia.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-UGG-COUNTERFEIT-Site/default/Counterfeit-Show?caid=counterfeit-retailers
I would say they are 100% counterfeit...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

So lets go back to the start.
Bought from a shop or online by your sister?Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
I didn't know that..
She bought them from a shop called Gift World in Cairns..0 -
I've also just found this guidance:
"Ugg" is a generic name for a sheepskin boot.
To discern whether you are buying an Australian article please note that all genuine Australian Ugg boots carry the "Australian Made" green triangle kangaroo logo/trademark which is licensed exclusively to Australian made products. The UGG® Australia brand sounds local but is in fact an American company which makes its boots in China.
They DID have the kangaroo logo..0
