I just want to know if there's anything I can do regarding the stitching besides admitting defeat and paying to get them repaired! :(

How 'regularly' did you email them after you sent photographic evidence?

What was the tone of your emails?

If you've bombarded them with less-than-polite emails whilst they've been doing some investigation on the state of your boots, maybe you've hacked them off and that's why they are not replying to you.
I'm not saying you haven't been polite and I'm not saying that they are in the right to do this, just offering up an explanation why things may have gone quiet.

Do your boots have the proper logo for Shearers boots (as shown on the website)?

If yours are fake Shearers maybe the company are checking that out, although it doesn't excuse them not contacting you to let you know what is happening.

Do you have their phone number?
Would it be an option to ring them?

Have you had a quote to have them re-stitched (by somewhere you can trust to do a good job)?
That may be the cheapest option, especially if Shearers are going to ask for you to pay postage.
  • Weekly? I've emailed twice this week. My sister has been emailing initially and was pretty polite in my opinion. I've been less so, but not rude..

Yes they're the proper logo, everything looks legit.

I expect I can find a number, bit given the cost that was a later resort. I was also thinking about calling the shop where she bought them as their number is on the receipt.

I haven't yet requested a quote, but I intend to do that this week.

I'm get the feeling there's not much I can do! :(
  • In case anyone was wondering, this has all been sorted.

After referring my complaint to various Office of Fair Trading's in Australia, their Dept of Tourism, the Australian Commission of Consumer something or other, and continued spamming of Shearers' email addresses I've finally had my boots replaced :j

The OFT contacted Shearers, and they then replied to my latest email (thus proving that they'd received them all and were simply ignoring me) and agreed to post a replacement pair to a friend of mine in Melbourne.

    Hurrah!
