I have been buying 'bits' for months and have some of last year's gifts for 'recycling' I will also be knitting and crocheting some of the wool I have managed to get at knock-down prices for various reasons. As my children (26-36!)all have more money than I do and would rather buy things they want themselves I started buying/making token presents and give them something bigger for birthdays.

    Hi all

I'm already buying Christmas pressies but it's a bit more forced this year as I will be on Statutory Maternity Pay by November and it's a HUGE drop in my income so I'm not just saving now, but if I see the bits, I'm buying them. Not doing too bad so far, about halfway there.

But hadn't thought about food though. I think this week I'll do as Glad says in the first post and make a list. Thing is I've never 'done' the food side of Chrsitmas before as we've either spent it at my Mum and Dad's or the InLaws, but with new bub on the way plus a littlie, I'm hoping people will bundle down to us to save us the travel etc.

Crickey... I've just realised I've not budgetted food yet, only pressies....

Is everyone going to post their 'Longlife-every-year' bits up so [strike]I can[/strike] we can all check we've got everything covered, [strike]and be nosey[/strike]? :rotfl:

Well I've got a Xmas Pudding that I bought in the Asda January sales! It's dated May 2008, and it was £9 reduced to £4.50!

I haven't even thought about Xmas yet

Might have to think of an action plan today - as DS gets older, it seems to get more expensive!!

Ive allready asked DS to write his letter to Santa, so it gives me an idea what to buy! Haven't a clue what to buy DD who will 8 this Xmas. Ive been buying some gifts and putting them away.

I dont buy any extra food in, just treat it as a huge Sunday dinner. Usually go to OH's parents for Xmas tea.

Think I will have a go and make my own hampers again this year. I did my first one last Christmas, and the reveiver was really peased

I used flylady's holiday planner last year and it was great - started october I think. Starting now though for this year so I can take my time. I'm making pressies again and ran out of time last year.

There is a Christmas 2007 thread already here

Already got a few bits & bobs for christmas so far. Am trying to pick up any Dr Who figures my son hasnt got when I see them. The Manager at Entertainer now tells me when he'll be getting a delivery in when ever he see's me. If I get them now I'll hopefully have a better chance of getting the new ones before they become rare.

Am saving up my boots & pigsback points. Have also picked up an Asds xmas points card so shall put the spare pennies on this.

Always loved christmas, but this one's extra special as its LO's first.

I bought my cards and paper after last Christmas and I've got one present, but I haven't actively started yet. Normally get going in September although I don't have many to buy for, thankfully.
