Yep, for once I am ahead - and I intend to stay that way, lol :D

I have 4 children's presents to get (don't want to buy too early on those as the kids in question are old enough to have changed their minds by then), and then apart from some baking and card/cracker making nearer the time, we're already done.

I've even got some 2008 birthday presents stashed away (will be an expensive year as middle son starts school, and youngest starts at nursery, so I'm trying to get ahead where I can)

    :)

Edit - make that two presents to buy - just found something on a sale sheet that won't go out of favour for the other two, lol :D

Well, you see - we sought help here at the MSE forums - that's why we're so organised, lol.

And we do get out more - bargain hunting!

    :p

I've said it before, but - whilst being this organised is admittedly a little 'sad' in many peoples eyes, it means that rather than spending November and December trekking around the high street with the hordes of Christmas shoppers getting stressed because we can't find the perfect present, and then spending January and February panicking about how to pay for it all, I can spend the run up to Christmas enjoying the season and doing lots of fun stuff with my kids, and know that come the new year I won't have created any debt to worry about.

    Nice

Anyway, I haven't bought any actually gifts yet, but I have £105 of gift vouchers (frasers, boots, whsmith, debenhams) put away for gift buying all of which I got free from Pigsback, Ipsos, Consumer Pulse and Shell Pluspoints.

I've made a little bit of money on ebay, which has been put away for Christmas, plus my £2 coin collection which equates to about £100.

Also, I am in a Christmas savings club in work, with which I have about £110 put away.

I think one of the best things I have learned from this site is about being prepared for Christmas, and making use of different sites like Pigsback and Quidco.

So when I do come to buy, I won't be struggling to get it all out of one wage :A

Get out more? NAH! We get out plenty :) And come december/january it won't be us fretting over the cost of presents, the fact that no matter what then everyone seems to eat more over christmas and they certainly drink more! Well all bar a few presents are taken care off, and my voucer collection is growing and I will have enough tesco stamps to pay for all the food and wine :) So... who needs to get out more ;)

I bought my cards in January for 50p, have a perfect shortbread recipe that stays in the freezer for over a year happily, (as I discovered when I was sorting out my freezer the other day LOL!)

I have an ongoing Christmas card list and present list written, so I sort of know what I am getting for people and I often stock up on some of the Lidls things like crayons and stationary or kiddies.

I *try* to save £15 per month, but it usually ends up getting swallowed by the MOT or car tax or some other thing that I forget to budget for.
