I start in the new year too, there's nothing wrong with being canny and saving a few bob.
I am saving points and vouchers (see siggy), have enough cards, wrap and tags and will buy things as I see them throughout the year. My motto is no-one knows what you paid for an item whether its full price or 90% off.
Each to their own but I like to spread the cost through out the year. :santa2:Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -
Thanks for the kick-start, just writing out my christmas 'plan now'. I give mostly hm gifts and cards so I should start soon, last year I ran out of time. I'm also starting a christmas savings jar, and will maybe get into a shop savings scheme, I think my local butcher did one last year; wonder if I'll be the first to ask to join this year??... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

yeay! Yes i started in january, i bought all of my gift wrap and card with 75% off. I then went to boots armed with a list and bought 6 gifts with 75% off! i also have stocking fillers stashed for my 4 kids although i will leave their big present untill november as they often dont know or change their minds!. Don't knock being organised, its fab (hubs thinks i have ocd about being organised). When january 07 arrived i sat and wrote out all of the gifts i would need for the whole year and birthday cards i also allowed for some gifts in anticipation of my younger two being invited to partys, and so far so good! I have an expensive year this year ds1 is going skiing with his school in january 2008 and have been putting money away for that, and also i will have 4 sets of complete school uniforms to buy, and you guessed it i've started already! Lots of Love to you like minded organised people!!!!!Sometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0

Am doing quite well as, although I haven't bought many presents, I'm pigsback clicking and test and vote surveying as best I can and already have over £20 of pigsback and £15 of HMV from test and vote! Also, I have a present box which I put unwanted or cheaply purchased presents in and then when a birthday comes up I use a present, or store it till Christmas! I'm also an avon lady and so I am purchasing small presents to hopefully make hampers with!
But those of you who scoff there are only 260 days to go, so better get organised!Official DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My DebtsDFW Long Hauler #109

Couldn't agree more!
I was lucky enough to buy a lovely towelling bath robe for a friend of mine in Primark the other week reduced down to £1.
I'm going to give this to her along with some smellies as a kind pamper hamper.
Also have other bargains stashed away and everything I have bought has been noted in the gift book I started at the beginning of the year and stays in my handbag so I can check what I have for any person whilst out instead of trying to rack my very bad memory!...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.
