Yay, Christmas!!! :T
I am very very organised this year, got all my wrapping paper and cards in the sales, got 2 large cardboard boxes full of gifts that I can dip into during the year if I miss birthdays etc. I did this last year as well, and to be honest I'm glad I did with the Farepak disaster. The day after Boxing Day I was in Boots and Next buying up all sorts of stuff!! :j
I've also started a savings account, and got Pigsback for vouchers and survey sites for moneyback as well. Also saving as many Boots points and Nectar points as well to helpYou're so very special, I wish I was special :dance:0 -

Dukie boy belittling others forbeing organised and trying to avoid racking up debt is not what MSE is all about. If you don't like Christmas and think we're "out of our minds" starting to save up now then why don't you stay away from the Christmas threads?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! I always buy throughout the year. Like someone else said i sit in Jan with a spreadsheet and write down all bdays and xmas gifts needed and when i see perfect things i snap them up.
Have a hige box full of gift things ready for bdays and xmas's. Last year was the first year i didnt do vouchers and im so lucky i didnt, DS birthday and everyones xmas would have been ruined if we had.
Also got son #2 arriving this year so want to be extra prepared as we will be very distracted doting on our new wee man!!Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110 -

I bought all my cards, gift wrap in the sales in January and I tend to cut up cards to make gift tags. I also bought some items in the sale but I do need to start thinking seriously as although I have no kids myself and we only pull a name out of the hat in our family (adults) so only have one present to buy. My close friends between them have 9 kids and I have 2 nieces and I buy for all of them.
I have already bought all the birthday presents bar 2 up to November so can now think of xmas presents.
I've just joined pigsback so i'll save up all my vouchers until the end of the year along with Boots
You can never be too early thats what I say and although I normally quite good I do still tend to put something cc nearer the time so my pledge this year is not to do thatSealed pot challenge - £400 no.4910 -
I agree you can never be to early. Use the freebeis you receive.
All Baileys stuff keep and put in the free Easter bag we received add a candle and a miniature bottle of Baileys some choccies bath night for soemone. COver up easter with your own stickers.
Loo roll inserts ....make your own crackers (with or without the bang bought at Handicraft outlets) put in Fairy free manicure set, hand cream (another free website ) and nail polish. Wrap in relevant newspaper articles. Don't buy paper use newspapers and magazines throughout the year and make it fit the person you are making the cracker for.!!
Think outside the box preferably a chocolate box0 -
Well I'm not as organised as you are, as I have just moved house so I'm thinking more of getting the house sorted in time for christmas (can't wait for christmas in my new house!!!). But thanks to BA losing our luggage last christmas when we went to Norway, I still have my christmas cake. My Cake-o-hol (he's been well fed) is now reduced to monthly feeds after he's consumed a small bottle of brandy. So I won't have to bake a cake this year, although I might still bake one for christmas 2008 if this one turns out to be scrummy. And I'm considering making my own pudding this year. Just have to find a pudding mould. A big one. I think I might want to really impress all the in-laws....0

If you mean Christmas Pudding, then you don't need anything special - my grandma always used a basic ceramic bowl - Mason-Cash type thing (although I very much doubt her's are much more than Wilko's finest, lol).
So long as it can withstand the heat when you steam the pudding, it'll be fine.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
Count me in! All my friends think I'm sad, but when it comes to December, I can eat drink and be merry c'os everything else is done!! I got a lot of cards and all my gift wrap in January. Made tags out of old cards. I have bought over 90% of gifts for everyone excluding hubby and kids. I am planning on making some gifts too this year. Collect a lot of the "freebies" as some of these make great gifts. Christmas costs a lot less these days now that I am a savvy shopper. Last Christmas was the first Christmas that I didnt go overdrawn or use my credit card. Many thanks to all who contribute here. xx xx0
