    What a great idea, glad!

Also, get a regular savers account which will take interest off you if you make more than one withdrawal a year. Pay in a set amount each month (£20 does it for me) and hey presto - £240 for xmas pressies and nights out!

Of course, I always realise in November that I have no idea where my passbook is to actually get the money out, but I always find it before Christmas Eve :D

Yes just got my Christmas savings money out yesterday then saw this post.
Sis and I collect our money then go for a bogof meal to celebrate, makes it more of an occasion. Excellent idea of yours .
  • I only found MSE at the beginning of the month so its a bit late for this year, I will definately do this for next year. I get my expenses from work paid by cheque so I think I might use this money as my Christmas fund.

Please tell me you got that wrong! it's 6 months right? not 5 months!

Actually I do have a few pressies hidden away!

I've got all the ingredients for my Christmas cake on next week's shopping list...

I'm determined to be done, dusted, bought, wrapped, baked and ready by no later than 15th November this year!

I always buy fill your own crackers as they can be such a rip off, gave hubby a gobstopper in his one year he was not amused to say the least. Now play it safe and buy xmas scratch cards £1 ones only keeps them busy while I serve lunch.icon12.gif I also challenged my Sis to a handmade gift that costs no more than £5 what fun we have had. It's not about the money but the love and thought. Thanks for the warning need to go shopping tomorrow and will have xmas on my mind. :T
