Lloyds TSB Debit Card - Not Olympic & Is It Offline?

Lloyds have said the black horse card design will not be available contactless until Jan 2013 :-(
Damn I phoned up Lloyds this morning telling them that my chip is scratched and it doesn't work in chip & pin and they said they'll send a new one which means my new card might not be contactless then.
Not sure why I am bothered though as only ever used contactless at mcdonalds.0 -

It seems like they are just issuing contactless cards on the 2012 design.0
