Re the shorter holiday, hotel refunded me the £45 quid as well, so that was a bonus.

Worked last night cleaning the garage and got soaked but it was quicker as pumps already wet and clean - ha

  • Not such a good day yesterday, got home and wife had been to do the weekly shopping and was stressed as it is my 40th tomorrow and she was down that she had to watch the money so tightly (party organised and all that before I came clean with her). Its a big party as well with lots of family who are unaware of the situation, I asked her are we going to get through this and she said I dont know, which worried me, but she said she wasnt going to leave me, because i asked her outright but I hate seeing her so upset!!

  • Oh Southwester sorry it was such a hard day yesterday, things will get easier, Money is such a huge part in everybodys lives and your wife prob just wants everything to be perfect for you, you are only ever 40 once, she prob had all these plans for what she wanted to do for your birthday party and what to get you, and she is prob stressing that she cant give you what she wanted.
Please dont read to much into the "are we going to get throught this" - "I dont know" we all say stuff when we are stressed/down that we dont mean, it is still early days for you both, aslong as you help each other through this and you stick by your word and dont go back to the old ways things will be fine I am sure, you are doing so well with decreasing the debt, working hard and giving up, your wife should be able to see that you are doing everything that you can to sort the situation.
I have stuck by my OH and he keeps having relapses, we stand by the people that we love.

  • Why dont you suggest marriage counselling? sometimes it helps to get everything off your chest, else the hurt/anger just keeps boiling up inside, then you can both have a good heart to heart.

  • Not to keen on that Becks, Think we will just have to ride the storrm, being careful that the boy doesnt pick up on it, they do very quickly but he seems happy at the moment. Once these 10 months are up that will release £200 a month but I suspect that will go to the Barclay debt to clear quicker rather than try to live a little easier
