Brakes making a noise when braking

  • Anyone know an average price for supply and fit of front discs and pads for a 206?

I've been quoted £65 from one garage and £120-£140 from another. Big difference.
  • Update:

Turns out it was the rear brake shoes. After having them replaced and a new wheel cylinder the noise went away. Also better braking.

some break pads are designed to make a high pitched squeling noise when they're close to worn. check that. It may also be that the brad discs are a bit dirty. Take the wheels off an inspect.
