Pigpen is there anything that OH could do to show you that he understands why you don't trust him, and that he is willing to be worthy of your trust? It seems to me that if you have to spend your entire life worrying about keeping any eye on him, both of you will end up being resentful.

    Afternoon all

Eyes tested and small shop done, lovely day to be on my bike but the wind resistance on the way home was tough.:o

I agree with Honey Bear about this Piggers. To me you have 2 issues going on. I think you are being entirely reasonable about not taking the girls. I think it is true that sometimes we have to miss things because of family commitments but the reason for him not going sounds more like you don't trust him (and I can see exactly why that is). If you really can't afford the petrol then that is another matter but he does have 2 months to save that £40. You don't want to spend the rest of your days together not trusting him out of your sight.

I don't think he is aware I know most of what I do lol.. I do trust him, but I trusted KH too and look where that got me and if he is willing to leave me at home with a 3 week old baby, a 14 month old and a son newly dx with diabetes when I can barely lift a kettle and am hobbling about on crutches what else is his conscience free of? Responsibility, obligation, duty, parenthood?.. I don't resent him, I'm just not going to make cheating on me easy. (plus I don't like his sister lol)

He also hates the drive and gets really stressed with it, M62 is awash with roadworks for the next year or more. It is a 2 hour drive which took 4.5 hours last time! He doesn't want to do the drive 2 weekends running, he moan enough when we go after 2 weeks... which is fair enough. Plus the money issue right before christmas.. the car is in for service that week too as well I think.. must check that actually. So it isn't all about me :p

  • piggers it sounds like he's lucky you are making the journey even once given the time of year, roadworks, car service, older kids' arrangements with KH etc...

And as for Lamewolf! How busy have you been!! You put us all to shame you are so far ahead!! I love my cosy bungalow - do you like yours? We are lucky in that we have a good sized garden and have built the conservatory on, but it is easier, especially hoovering all on the one floor!!!! (Perhaps I'm getting lazy in my old age!!!!). Ionafan, is it you that also lives in a bungalow? R x
Hehe, it's good having Mr LW here, as he's able to help me get things done that I can't manage on my own anymore.:A
I was very lucky in that Mr LW already lived in a bungalow when I moved in with him; previously I was in a house, and was reduced to going up and down the stairs on my bum.
The only down side is that I still think of it as "his" house, even though I used my share of the money from the sale of my previous house to pay off the mortgage, and also had my name put on the title deeds.:( Also, it's very tiny, and ideally, I'd like a larger place - I could do with a garage and a utility room to have a second freezer. But, by and large, yes, it's good, it's a nice area to live, and being as small as it is it's not a very major job to stay on top of the housework, even with my health issues.:o

Am I being a cow? Or are my feelings quite as valid as I think they are?
No and Yes, in that order. Once bitten, twice shy, imho. And you have your small daughters to think about. For crying out loud, it's only a birthday.... I regularly kick those under the carpet and pretend they don't exist!;)

Mr LW has expressed a desire to go to the cinema tonight; we'll use my CEA card so only pay for one ticket:money: He's had a look online, and looks like the best offering is Resident Evil 5.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
