  • Good morning :D

DH (& DD2 & friend) got in at about 12.30 last night. I woke up & vaguely remember DH saying things like 'expensive night'. He thinks he may have been flashed at a speed camera  I am not worried about the fine (that is his lookout!) more about how points effects MY car insurance! Anyway, DD & friend are still in bed as they don't have to be in 'til break.

I have managed to call a plumber. Why is it that when they ask what make, and you tell them, they chuckle or make that air-sucking sound  The plumber that put the boiler in (quite a few years ago) was very good, and wouldn't have put in rubbish! he is coming round later, so some 'not too expensive' vibes would be appreciated! :)

I have the drs this morning at 9.30, so i have asked Bubba to be dropped off by 9.15 at the latest. If she is not here, i will be leaving!! (he is supposed to be here at 8-8.30). I can't keep waiting around - I have a life!!

Is it me? Or do I seem grumpy this morning? :p:rotfl:

I will be back later :)

plenty of not too expensive and easy to fix vibes coming your way good intentions.
hope the points aren't too expensive.

S&Sed the kitchen washed up and will dry and put away once ive had a coffee, gave fridge a tidy while i was in there.
DS2s clothes all put away and his bed made - just got a bit of toy and tat putting away off his floor - his room is quite small so it always looks cluttered.
decluttered both boys off to school
folded some washing that DH brought in last nigh some still a bit damp so thats going back out once im happy its not going to rain.
ive split the conifer clippings down into 5 bags instead of the 2 DH crmmed them into - he might lift weights for a hobby but the binmen dont so theres no way they'll lug them into the cart with the amount he stuffed in.
fed the birds and picked up some leaves off the front. so all in all not a bad start to the day.

I am in a strop.. again..

OH's sister is 30 on 22nd Dec and her hubby is inviting friends round for a 'party' and his mum does a family party that weekend usually so I swapped weekends with KH so we could go that weekend.

Now, his sister doesn't want 2 parties in one day so his mum is doing her party the week before (15th) but that is the weekend I swapped.

I am not taking the girls to his sisters birthday. They are the only 2 children that would be there in a house full of people drinking, smoking (not tobacco) swearing like troopers (yes I do but Squeak is repeating every word and I don't want her picking some of it up) and a large possibility of illegal substances being about. So I am not just being a meanie, it is not going to be suitable.

I am more than happy to swap the weekends back and go to the family do and miss her birthday.. but OH wants to go to see her on her birthday (and possibly the group of friends who mostly never invite him anywhere or contact him!) ordinarily I would suggest he went without us, it is only 1 night after all but last time he did that he spent the night at some womans house after saying he was staying at his mums and it wasn't even an impromptu thing it was all prearranged and he just lied to me. He did tell me he had stayed there when he got back and there were other bits went on with this woman so understandably I am reluctant to suggest he goes.. Then there is the £40+ fuel costs the week before christmas.

Am I being a cow? Or are my feelings quite as valid as I think they are? I think he should just suck it up and realise he can't do everything same as I've missed family birthdays as we couldn't get there (such as my cousins 40th who lives close to his mother)

  • they sound perfectly good reasons not to go to me pigpen, hope you can reslove it somehow.

decluttering emails i read one from somewhere telling me cheap cheese had been on offer at tesc0 if i wasnt always in here and the knitting sewing threads i would probally have read it on mse a while ago, but anyhow took a chance and nipped down.
twin packs of mature catherdral city cheeese are showing on the shelf at £6 something but are going through the tills at £1. there was an out of stock sign up and no cheese when i went but lovely helpful young lad went to check for me and came out with 6 packs, 3 for me 1 for mil 1 for a friend and 1 for DD3.
difinately worth checking if you like strong cheese but make sure its the 2Xmature twin pack you get, if it shows at full price at the till you can always change your mind and ask to have it cancelled as you didnt realise youd picked storng up.
hope this helps any cheese eaters

off to grab that coffee and catch up now

  • I would say that you are correct Piggers! Your reasons for not wanting to go to 'that sort of party' are perfectly valid - esp with 2 impressionable young girls in tow.

When DD1 was bedbound I took DS and DD2 to my mother's 80th party, DH stayed at home to look after DD1.

Likewise when OH's brother turned 50 he went down for the weekend and I stayed to look after DD1. I was glad he went ( it was the last time he, his brother and OH and his dad went out for a meal - Fil died later that year.)

Being in a relationship with someone and having children means a partnership and you can't always do what you want to do..... I can see why you are not keen on him going on his own after last time:eek::eek: (i'd have throttled him!)

You have done your best to accommodate his wishes - you have swapped a weekend to try to get there. If OH's sister is that selfish to want all the attention to be on her then so be it - but you don't have to turn your world and your principles on their head to suit her!

    Hi All

I am in this week, thanks for the lists Juliejim. I worked my backside off in the house on Sunday, starting in my room & working my way downstairs, I have a BIG party coming up on Friday & daresay I will have a few people in the house helping on Friday with the buffet, so need to keep on top of it this week, even though everything was done on Sunday, I still need to keep on top of it! I was off work sick yesterday, so have a day to catch up on, no ironing will be done this week unless required, have too much stuff going on with kids being off school & getting party stuff organised ie me getting bits & bobs done lol, already have most of the food etc & all decorations.

I have been flying, just don’t’ have the time to post at night, find when I come on the puter, its hard to get back off it again!

Hope you are all well, hugs spoons etc where required x
