Update - collection only item that she wanted posted

Last week I posted to say that a women had won a lamp @ 99p, it was collection only but she wanted it posted - only asked me after she had won it.

She has just left me negative feedback.

I am so upset I am in tears. I know it is is only a silly little thing but I have worked so hard on ebay, I am a single mum and the money I make gets clothes for Izzy and food on our table. she has just ruined the whole thing for me now.

It is not even my fault that she bid on a collection only item and couldn't actually collect it.

I am really !!!!!! off now.

    What did she put?

Take a few deep breaths - it's not that important in the end. Spend a little time thinking up a suitable follow-up. Perhaps:

'Please read listing fully in future, item was collection only'
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
  • Please don't get yourself so upset about it. It really isn't worth it. Follow-up the feedback that she's left you (factual reply) and then leave her negative feedback.

If your feedback rating is really low, you could always start over again. If you've got a relatively high feedback rating I don't think 1 negative rating is going to make much difference.

"very unfriendly/unhelpful, particularly to a new ebayer- greatly disappointed" She had a feedback of 15 - I have repiled explaining it was a collection only item and neg'd me when I refused to post

I have in return neg'd her "Won item COLLECTION ONLY Neg'd me when I refused to post it - AVOID like plague"

I am just so angry now, all for the sake of a 99p lamp.

I think the odd negative just proves your only human and probably makes you a more endearing seller compared to a robot powerseller with 100% !!!!!!

If someone has a neg i find it and read both sides of the story, usually the seller is the innocent party and their reaction to the neg just indicates what sort of person they are.

If they respond with abuse I think twice about buying from them!!

Sorry this has happened to you and that it has upset you so much.

Although I always say that having 100% is not that important I know I'd be upset if I got a neg, particularly if it was something that was in no way my fault.

One piece of advice I would give is to keep all responses strictly factual. You want to look cool and professional.

Hope you feel better soon :)

Make sure you report her as a non-paying bidder.

    What are you talking about???
It was POSTED, and therefore paid for.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.
  • No the item wasn't paid for/posted because the seller wanted it collected.

    No, it was not.

You may want to check your facts before flying off the handle.

Thanks everyone, she paid for it & I refunded the money (all of 99p) and explained that I couldn't courier it as 1, I can't stay in all day waiting for a courier, 2, the item is a 5ft floor lamp and v.fragile - for which I didn't want to pack!

    Never mind! shi!t happens!
