We watched that again last night. He is such a dreamy man...and playing a widower with young daughters seems to make him more desirable! My hubby openly admits Jude Law is his man-crush! Lol

I was saying to my friend that I miss my girls being young:o (Even though they are lovely and usually great company (15 and 13), I miss them being little)
So, Jude Law, with his 2 little girls...perfect for me:rotfl:

Ok, I'm starting to sound a bit deranged now, best stop;)
I really need to sort out a new signature!
  • Do you pause the tv when he says romantic things and answer him back haha. It's miserable out, I wish it had snowed it always makes everything look nice and clean c

    Happy New Year everyone.

We had a lovely evening. We played game of life over midnight which I won so technically I started 2013 a winner. :p

Today the MSE this were a nice walk along the coast. Only bought sausage rolls for lunch rather than sitting in a cafe. I have finished all of my xmas sweets except a large pack of skittles which I am keeping back for my stepdads birthday this month as he loves them. Saves a quid. Also my daughters were given a boyish techy present which I have put back for a boys birthday later in the year. We had breakfast and also dinner last night at SILs. So a lovely evening.

Need to work out my budgets tomorrow and ask hubby what he wants to do about paying off the car repair from his card.

I have ordered his presents so need to take that out of OU free money.

I'm not sure whether or not to separate my money into weekly spending allowances. For example I technically have £600 free a month so perhaps give myself £50 a week 'pocket money' in cash and then what ever I have left I put towards debts.

Also I want to start taking out our food budget in cash and then we can keep track.

Good points - we have lots of toiletries to see us through, the kids have lots of sweets so we don't need to buy anything for a while, and we have quite a few bits in the freezer to use up!

    So immediate plans

    Do a meal plan
Discuss where overpayments are to be made
    Create budget
    Join grocery challenge
Work out how I am doing moneywise bearing in mind hubby's presents
Start saving £2 coins again (I still have £44 in a sealed pot!) - I have rejoined the challenge

Right off for a nice relaxing bath :D

  • Good evening, sounds like you have had a nice day. The cash drawing out sounds like a good plan then you can keep track of budgets etc and you can keep a tidy bank. I bet you can't wait to make overpayments, although I advised of poamayc 2013 to focus on November and then build some saving :-) have fun organising spreadsheets. I love them x

***shuffles in shiftily to admit I have done something very un-MSE***

Yesterday we bought the solid oak tv unit we have been hankering after for about 2 years! It looks amazing though and now means there are no wires and Xbox accessories visible- I love it!

I can put 2 MSE spins on it though-

    1. We were planning on getting it this year and the garden centre only has a sale in Jan so we got 20% off. So £239 rather than £299 so MSE in that we would have paid full price in the year!

    2. For our Xmas present to eachother we were either getting a camera or the unit. We chose the camera so were going to try to afford it this month. The tv unit cost less than the camera :D

Other news- meal planned to use up a lot of our freezer. Also did a mr s online shop with £12 off a £60 spend. I got my order to £60.14 and it said I had £39 savings. I ordered almost everything that was good offers. We will do a farm box delivery and then should only need top-ups.

Pretty much sorted for my hubby's birthday (when my deliveries arrive) so need to get some wrapping paper and we are done :)

Decluttering- I am up to 191 things decluttered :j just the paperwork and DVDs to complete and then the lounge and kitchen is done! Once I have tackled the understairs it will mean the whole of downstairs is clutter free. Plus I have spring cleaned everywhere I have sorted!

    Back to work today!

Decluttering is going well........about to tackle under the stairs.

230 items decluttered so far! :j:j:j:j

    Right onto the money situation.

Another £2 saved in my Jar. £50 in there! I am quite chuffed with that! :A

Working out our total debt beginning of Jan

    Loan £2256
    CC1 0% £1903
    CC2 0% £3807
    Next £359
    Xmas/car repair £490

    Total= £8815

    Payments this month so far.

    CC1 £20 = £1883 (feels nicer to be under 1900!)
    CC2 £37 = £3770 (woohoo under 3800!)
    Next £100 = £259

Looks a bit better! Looking forward to my loan balance after my normal payment next week. I will top it up to get it under the 2k mark!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
