  • Phew... Miss F appears to have made a miraculous recovery :D

She could barely stand up when I left this morning and I was concerned that she may have gone to the big chicken coop in the sky during the day but this evening we came home to find her roosting on the back of a chair after jumping on the table first!!!

I've made sloe gin and blackcurrant vodka moneycurious. You? I wanted to try gooseberry gin but I didn't get any fruit on my gooseberry bush and I didn't pick enough blackberries for blackberry whisky this year. My brother normally gives us plum brandy and raspberry-something!

  • Good morning

This morning I am [STRIKE]being lazy[/STRIKE] working from home :rotfl:and this afternoon I am at an off-site team building event... yay, I'm really looking forward to it, not!

Miss F is fine and is currently pottering around the garden with the others. I already have 1 egg from Miss B - I wonder if I'll get any more today...

It should be a NSD today :)

  • My boss has e-mailed to tell us that any costs associated with attending the team building event will be classed as personal spends and not reimbursed. I suspected this which is why I decided to WFH this morning.

Home to work = 25 miles
Work to team building locaton = 15 miles
Home to team building location = 26 miles

So I save myself 14 miles and 30 minutes driving :)

Is anyone voting in the PCC elections today?

I'm not because there aren't any independent candidates in my county (and I don't think that this should be a party-political issue) but I feel bad because this will be the first election I have not voted in the 24 years I have been able to vote.

  • I survived team building - these things are never as bad as I fear and I actually quite enjoyed it!

Yummy free lunch - sea bass, new potatoes roasted with garlic & rosemary and vegetables followed by cheesecake

No more eggs - so just the 1 today

Yup, been and done my civic duty - we had a by election as well :T.

We had 5 candidates for he PCC - tbh I was quite impressed by all their CV's and statements. The same is not true of the 14 by election candidates - especially Mr Mozzarella and the candidate from the Elvis Loves Pets Party :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • I havent voted for the PCC, i like you dont agree how anyone can be party affiliated and tell a senior police officer what to do is beyond me .................. and no one really understands what they do - the old bids round me are voting for their political party - and it angers me that they should be reading their aims - as it affects peoples jobs and lives... sorry very paaionate about it!!!!

I really dont see much point in voting. I couldnt find an easy breakdown of what our candidates manifestos were. Just pages and pages of rubbish. And dont get me started on the political thing. I was tempted to vote independent but really couldnt be bothered.
