First load of laundry done... just as it has started to rain :(

More spring cleaning today and a huge (almost certainly expensive) supermarket shop as we have guests tomorrow and Monday. I'll see if I can get Mr MWC to pay seeing as he's raking in the petrol expenses at the moment (at least £100/day on 2 days this week + a bit more on 2 other days)
Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000
    Mortgage-free: January 2021

Do you know MWC, that every (I think Tuesday) time this song is played just after 8am on R2 I think of you, and the girls:)

    Morning muddy white chicken,

I've been lurking around here this week, it's been lovely reading your chicken related posts, adds a lovely twist to mortgage talk.

Today we are adding the finishing touches to our chicken renovations. They have been living in a new house and greenhouse over the winter. Unfortunately due to old age we lost most of our hens over colder months, leaving just two. If the run renovations and house get moved today as planned.... We will be welcoming four or six new ladies to the family tomorrow.
They are pets but we like them to pay towards their keep by selling excess eggs. Just wondering how much you sell yours for?
Well done on your mortgage over paying, it's very inspiring, I'll be starting my own thread soon. Look forward to hearing about the next chicken adventures.

    Hello giggles_alot

Sorry to hear that you lost some hens over the winter :( but how exciting that you are getting some new girls :D

Have you got names in mind? Mine have old lady names!

I sell my eggs for £1.50 for a box of 6 (just increased by 25p) and I have one customer who chooses to pay double - the extra is to "treat the ladies"

If the weather holds today and we get to move the hen house and do some repairs we should be getting them tomorrow, if not Monday :D

We're possibly going to name them after gems, depending on breeds/colours we get. Ruby, Opel, diamond, sapphire, Topaz, etc. Not set on the idea, if my niece goes to collect them we could end up with hens names after Disney Princesses :rotfl:

Last time we had excess eggs, probably this time last year because they stopped laying all winter. We used to sell 6 for £1 to friends and neighbours, possibly time to up it a little :D

    Eggs IN 7
Eggs OUT 5 (Mr MWC had a fried egg sandwich for lunch + 4 to be used in a toffee apple cheesecake that I'm making this evening)

    Plants IN 7 :o (6 x marigolds, 1 x bidens)

Supermarket shop was £98  but did include £10 avocados, £8 asparagus, £3 limes, £13.50 on triple sec, £10 on a dress for my friend's little girl, £6 on plants/flowers. It didn't include any food for next week though...

Today's deep tissue massage was excruciating again - 1/2 price though because I had a full loyalty card :T

Bengali butternut squash & chickpea curry for dinner

I may have to start rationing!

I'm sure there must be some chicken/egg tunes thats I could play them... I just can't think of any :rotfl:
