Wow, that's a good lot of seeds.

Planning to do some of that myself tomorrow.

Sorry the Midlands was grim for you...

    Hope you enjoy the weekend.

  • Thanks MCI

I spent most of yesterday in the garden :D

Planting out/potting up a few plants that I had over-wintered in the conservatory or plants that I have bought recently to replace those that didn't make it, chicken-proofing those they find tastiest (Miss B. Miss LRH and Miss Beryl keep jumping over the gate into my garden, the others just look longingly at it!) and tidying the shed. I wouldn't say that I'm a hoarder but I did have rather a lot of glass jars and plastic flowerpots... 2 bags of jars transferred to the recycling box, pots stacked tidily on a shelf.

    Only 5 eggs yesterday

JO's fiery dan dan noodles for dinner

    Today's tasks:

    Menu plan
    Grocery shopping
    Housework
    Tidy herb garden
Sow herb seeds - chives, chervil, sorrel and various types of basil from the :money: offer last month
    Weed & feed lawn

  • Morning, it was so glorious yesterday - we have all been so starved of the sun it was an absolute delight. Like you much activity in the garden. Loads of seeds planted and I hope this really is the start of spring :T

I don't know whether to laugh at the young girl's antics or commiserate - it'll be Miss LRH leading the others astray - she's found her confidence :):):)

  • I love to see them pottering around my garden but they do so much damage - eating plants (my poor rhubarb is really suffering...), digging up or burying plants, trampling on plants, kicking gravel and bark chips on to the lawn.

I don't know why I feel so guilty - they have sole use of approx. 20% of the garden and I spend a small fortune on treats for them! Once the plants are a bit more established, I will probably introduce supervised free-ranging just before bed-time :)

Miss B (aka Miss MWC) is the ringleader Tilly... she also jumps the fence into the neighbour's garden :o

The weather forecast here is sunny today but cloudy for the rest of the week, temperatures are ok though.

  • Hi MWC, you should see the damage my large hounds have done to our garden this winter - we've never had this happen before.

Miss LRH has a role model I see to teach her naughty tricks - everyone needs that in their lives.

After we've walked the dogs and volunteered for a couple of hours, I'm planning on sitting in the garden with my gardening books. We're on heavy clay and I want to find a way of dealing with a bed - south facing - but for some reason I've always had problems growing stuff in it.

    Best wishes Tilly x

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have no experience with heavy clay - sorry - but, if you get the soil/drainage sorted, south-facing would be ideal for a herbaceous border ;)

    Enjoy your day

  • I've done evrything on my list of things to do... well maybe not as much housework as I should have :o

Dinner was very, very yummy - lamb slow-roasted with shallots, potatoes, red peppers and white wine and served as a warm salad with feta, sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, dill and lettuce

    6 eggs today

  • Oops I didn't post yesterday - not much happening just waiting for pay day, 7 eggs IN, 4 eggs OUT (huevos rancheros for dinner)

Received some plug plants from ebay today - very pleased with size/quality and much cheaper than garden centre - they are replacements for things that didn't make it through the winter :)

Mr MWC is away again (just for a night) so I had toast, yogurt and maltesers for dinner - I couldn't even be bothered to make a fishfinger sandwich :o

Only 5 eggs today - The Girls are protesting about being locked in their run for a second day... it's for their own safety (until the lawn weed & feed is well watered in)
