  • Bonjour from Lyon

I'm still trying to catch up with everything (sleep included) since returning from holiday.

I had a free afternoon to do some sightseeing today (makes a change from only seeing the airport and supplier's facilities!) - I thought I'd have 40 winks first and woke up 5.5 hours later!!! Sightseeing therefore involved a quick walk around the square outside which is lined with the most beautiful magnolia trees in full bloom :D

I had been thinking about opening a new ISA until I realised that the one I opened last year pays 4.25% interest until 31 October 2013 and then 1.5% above base rate until 1 January 2014. I'll transfer my full allowance in at the weekend and look to transfer it later in the year.

My new diet is going quite well. I've lost 3.5 pounds since Monday although that is probably all from my ankles :rotfl:

    Bonjour MWC

magnolia trees are beautiful - I'd love one in my garden if I had the room.

Well done on the weight loss. 3.5 lbs is fantastic progress :T

But they're only beautiful in bloom Fortune - the rest of the year they're a bit dull :( I'd have a real dilemma if my garden was big enough...

Diet not going so well today... overtired, bored and my hosts left me alone with a plate of chocolate biscuits this afternoon :o I can resist everything except temptation :rotfl:Stayed in my hotel room and ate a cereal bar instead of going out for dinner on the company CC though :A That'll cheer my boss up - he's gonna go mentile when he finds out that my flights cost £513 + travel agency fees

  • Good morning - it's good to be home with Mr MWC again :j

Flight home was delayed by ~1 hour yesterday :( but I was upgraded

Whilst we were away the postie delivered a share dividend cheque for £343.64 :T:T:T I like free money :rotfl:

Things to do before I go away again tomorrow:

Spend some QT with Mr MWC
Laundry, more laundry and, if it stays dry, even more laundry...
Go to BS and pay in dividend cheque
    Menu plan
    Grocery shopping
Find receipt and return unworn "holiday" skirt
Review finances/transfer money to ISAs/make MOP
Drive 70 miles to have my hair cut
Pop in and see my dad
    Pay window cleaner
Open windows and let some fresh air in
    Housework
    Clean chicken coop
    Tidy garden
    Pack another suitcase

That's quite a lot to do before 17:00 tomorrow

Morning MWC - welcome back :)
Hope you can find some time to relax in between the items on that list! :p
  • Thanks BW

Slowly (very slowly!) making my way through the list :)

Review of finances resulted in transferring £5,759 from a savings account to my ISA, transferring £1,062.25 from my current account to the Further Advance (total MOP for April = £1,625) and leaving £2,500 in both current accounts at 5% interest :D

  • I wish I was at home with Mr MWC :(

Instead I'm in a grim hotel room in The Midlands :(:( (my admin assistant obviously didn't read the reviews before she booked... or maybe she did and she doesn't like me :rotfl:)

And whilst I'm feeling sorry for myself, none of the taxis here accept CCs so I will have to spend my cash rather than use the company CC and wait weeks to be reimbursed :(:(:(

    And I have a headache :(:(:(:(

7 eggs today though :D Miss LRH's eggs are normal size now (~65g) but Miss Beryl and Miss Gladys are still laying little eggs (45-50g)

Aw poor you :(. Glad LRH is a big grown up girl now though :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
