  • Busy, busy, spendy, spendy...

Dinner & a gig last night with a friend - it was his turn to pay for the ticket though so I only needed to pay for dinner (£25) and parking (£6)

    Subsidised massage this morning (£7)

    Facial tomorrow (£50 + tip)

Trip to London on Saturday to see The Big Yin (£££ - train, dinner)

Trip to visit Great Aunt on Sunday (££ - coffee, lunch etc and birthday cake for 50!)

Mr MWC's employer made approx. 15% of their employees (all US-based) redundant this evening  Time to start job hunting methinks!

I've lost count of eggs this week...I think we've been getting 5/day, I've sold 2 boxes @ £1.50/box, I think Mr MWC gave his dad a box and ate 1 or more for lunch
Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000
    Mortgage-free: January 2021
Retired: June 2022 (186 months early!)
  • Hey MWC, will MrMWC get to see any of the match tomorrow?

If Scotland start out how they ended in the World Cup and England do the same, I think it is going to be a very good match... with an assured Scottish victory! Whilst I'm hoping that the England team buck their ideas up and put up a glorious display of good rugby, it sure looks a promising fixture :D

Not sure i would like to be an English rugger fan in Billy's audience later if Scotland do claim victory :D #lightheatedbanterandgentlelegpulling ;)

I'vejust made Memorygirl's Jamaican ginger cake - won't be needed until next week for snap, so plenty of time for flavours to 'meld'. Just waiting for the calzone (Leanne Brown's recipe) to finish off cooking and then i can put me feet up for the evening :D

Glad the girls are laying so well and productively :D Boo to redundancies at MrMWC's place - hope we don't catch a cold this side of the atlantic from the sneeze from t'other :(

Hope you have a great day/evening tomorrow :D

Yes, he will - appropriate venue (i.e. one that sells beer) in the vicinity has already been identified :rotfl:

Mmm cake... I've eaten too much cake already this year :o

The risk of working for a start-up :( HOWEVER he is very well paid for doing very little so it's good whilst it lasts :)
Hope you have a great day/evening tomorrow :D

    Thanks, you too :kisses3:

I'll get planning our next holiday :)

Apologies for not responding to text, my phone isn't working :(

  • Switzerland would be an option! Or California  Hoping not to have to relocate though as we already live within the London-Oxford-Cambridge golden triangle :)

Not worrying about redundancy - too busy planning summer holiday :j

A very large terracotta pot to replace the one just blown over and broken, even though it was really heavy and had a big plant it it . Blowing a hoolie on and off here .

  • Mr MWC has mentioned that he is considering phoning Virgin and dropping Sky Sports. I really hope he does (and downsizes the bundle) as the broadband/TV/telephone line rental is costing us £99.74/month + telephone usage charges  Whether or not he actually does is a different matter...

  • Me: "Have you cancelled Sky Sports yet?"
Mr MWC: "I wish I'd never mentioned it... I'm only thinking about it."

Back from a 2-day business trip to Scotland. Nightmare journey up - train delayed by 3+ hours due to major gas leak at Durham - so I'll be claiming delay repay of £40.50 today.

£5 L2S voucher received from a RM unaddressed mail survey and now up to £35 on OP

£208 spent on my car (service/brake pads/tracking) but they still can't find out why it's overheating :( Faulty sensor? I'm not willing to take the risk so I'll need to book it in with the dealer...
