  • I have a day off work today :j

This morning I am picking up my aunt who is flying in from Canada and dropping her off at my dad's - an 89 mile roundtrip.

I should be back mid-afternoon and then I need to have a powernap as we are going to Mr MWC's work Christmas party this evening. The venue is 40 miles away and it looks like we'll be driving through snow according to the weather forecast :(

Should be a LSD - just parking charges this morning. The party is free :D

  • Thanks for the tips on the books! Will look into those.

Hope you enjoy the party and drive safe in this weather.

Thanks MWC :) - have a great time at the party
  • Yesterday was a NSD for me. Free parking when I met my aunt and free drinks at the party

The party was fun - champagne on arrival, nice meal, free casino, disco - and Mr MWC's colleagues were lovely. The drive home was ok as snow lying on the road only became a problem a couple of miles from home - phew!

    2 eggs yesterday - Miss B and Miss Q

    Plans for today:

Recover from yesterday's party and get ready for tonight's party (a family 18th birthday party)

  • Mr MWC has just done his end of month account shuffle - his ISA is now full and he also transferred £250 to me for the holiday account :j

He has over £23,000 in his cash ISA now... he's definitely a keeper :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have transferred £350 to the holiday account (Mr MWC's £250 + £100 leftover in the joint account). The flights to Mexico are already paid for and there should be enough money in the account now to pay for the villa, car rental, sightseeing, meals etc :T Now to start saving for the next holiday... a walking holiday in Europe in September  We spent a week walking along the Catalan coast last September and had the most amazing holiday :D

2 eggs today Natty - 1 regular size warm white egg from Miss B this morning and 1 cold green whopper (100g) from Miss M this afternoon

We spent £15-something in Morrisons this afternoon on seed for the wild birds, spinach for The Girls and fruit & vegetables for us

I've also ordered sandwich platters and a birthday cake from Waitrose for my great-aunt's 100th birthday tea next Sunday _party_

  • Very lazy day today as we didn't get home until after 2 this morning... I don't do late nights!

3 eggs today :T still only Miss B, Miss M and Miss Q laying though

Game & sausage casserole with mashed potato, sprouts and roast squash for dinner followed by a Christmas pudding that I found in a cupboard... I think that I made it 3 Christmases ago but it might have been 4 :D

Its a good job that Christmas Puds keep so well - that reminds me that I have a small one that DHs colleague gave us as a Christmas present - DH doesn't like them, so looks like a feast for me one night!.
