Making chicken feed of my mortgage

I struggled to get up this morning at 06:00 Tilly!
I'm thinking about these baskets for my hampers this year:
http://www.easyfloristsupplies.co.uk/baskets/willow-baskets/oval-rustic-peeled-willow-trug/p20201.html?gclid=CKzAtJbQqLoCFWTHtAodvHYAHg
or these bags for the smaller ones:

In previous years I have also used natural colour jute bags and stuck red felt reindeer ribbon or large white felt snowflakes to them with fabric glue or tied a felt Christmas decoration to the handle.
I put red shredded crinkle cut paper in the bottom of the baskets.
Jars with red & white lids (spotty or gingham) stay as they are, I make fabric jar toppers with red/white snowflake fabric for the other jars, chutney in clip top jars has felt snowflake ribbon tied around, bottles have a felt snowflake or a little wooden reindeer decoration tied to them, christmas puddings are wrapped in red tissue paper and cellophane, cookies go in clear/white snowflake cellophane bags tied with red ribbon, and chocolate-dipped candied orange peel go in small cellophane bags tied with red gingham ribbon.

Well done on getting your pickle done, I really like the sound of pear pickle, nom nom
I got my chutney done last night and I'm pleased (but a little amazed) to say it was a roaring success :j
It's all bottled up and labelled with most of it going to friends and good neighbours as a little gift, not for Christmas but 'just because'
Can help feeling a bit proud of my little self
I've taken a photo of the jars, they can't compete with the feast for the eyes photo you put on here recently but if I ever get round to moving photos to my laptop I might even post it on here
Regards
ATT
Thanks ATT
The pear pickle is really very good. We don't actually eat a lot of the stuff I make ourselves but we do like the pear pickle and we use the hedgerow jelly instead of redcurrant jelly in recipes.
Please do post a photo of your chutney

I'm tired today as Mr MWC arrived home at exactly 01:41 and woke me up (unintentionally!)
He came back with a pretty impressive haul of goodies:
- MB toiletries from the hotel
- orange flip flops in my size
- sennheiser headphones
- a muvi micro camcorder + accessories
- a promotion
- a 4.2% payrise backdated to 1 October and an increased bonus opportunity

We had a delivery from Riverford today as I decided to treat us! So now I'm looking forward to meal planning and eating borlotti beans, radicchio, padron peppers, romanesco, parsnips, squash, lamb shanks, pork belly, venison sausages and lots of other yummy looking items. Not all in the same meal or even the same week :rotfl:Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000
