  • Hi MWC, apologies for hi jacking your thread to have couscous discussions.

GG, you've reminded me that my mum has an old conical strainer thing. Will need to check that out :)

Mr T used oil to separate the grains then put boiling water in - worked well :)

  • Popped to Sainsbury's earlier to buy a few things that I couldn't get yesterday - expected to spend ~£10, actually spent £36.22... I'm blaming Mr MWC and his £4 toothbrush :rotfl:

    Other things done today:

Deadheaded and weeded garden - lawn to be mowed after dinner -
Got annoyed with the squirrel who keeps digging the plants out of my pots
    Lots of laundry
Went for a walk with Mr MWC - hard work today due to the heat and the fact that my legs ached before I started!
Mr MWC and I decided to try the 5:2 diet for July

Some people at work doing that diet quite successfully.

I suspect that Mr MWC will find it easier and be more successful than me - I'm normally a grazer :(

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with the 5:2 MWC. It does seem to work for people.

Fingers crossed - first fast day on Tuesday - all this talk about dieting has made me hungry!

Eggs IN 5 (well 6 really but I dropped one :()
Eggs OUT 18 (12 to neighbours, 6 for dinner)

Frittata and salad for dinner followed by yummy chaunsa mango and fresh lime :D

  • I knew our work IT system was antiquated but an e-mail sent today informing us of an upcoming upgrade informed us "That’s right, we’re entering the 20th century of computing!"

N/wide have a competition to win £500 by submitting a photo of the best feature in your garden - hmmm, now I wonder what I'll take a photo of...

    Another £500 MOP today :D
Even without this OP, the FA redemption date had been readjusted to May 2024 :T

Absolutely delicious dinner tonight - scandi-style salmon salad (radish, fennel, granny smith apple and walnuts mixed with creme fraiche, dill and caraway seeds, topped with beetroot and honey-roast salmon flakes) served with a toasted onion bagel

I have lots of gooseberries in the garden so I think I'll make a batch of green gooseberry & elderflower jam on Friday :) and possibly some elderflower cordial
