i have just bought this phone so still learning at the moment.
can i ask anyone who owns one, when you access the contacts then favourites the list of calls dialled and received shows up. should these be lit up? i have a problem reading who is on the favourite lists because there is no back light.

thanks rusty. only the right hand side seems to light up where the silhouettes are ( i havnt loaded pics of my contacts).
i cannot read the names to the left unless its daylight or i am under electric light

Galaxy s2 doesnt have backlight. Its a super amoled display the pixels provide their own light.

Display on auto brightness? Turn it off and manually adjust it to the correct light level to suit you.

Sure its a real S2? Chinese clone? The picture icons should be on the left not the right.

Maybe its the background wallpaper causing the issue?

Its the brightest screen on any phone i have ever owned. Superb brightness and colours.

I love mine.

thanks forgotmyname. bought it from 02 shop so doubt its a chinese clone. all pages are fully lit apart from the favourites page. it just seems strange that the list of names cannot be read easily but the silhouettes are lit.
on the home page i tap contacts then across the top of the page i tap favourites this is when only half the page is lit.
oh has the phone but will have another look tonight.the background wallpaper hasnt been changed its the default one. might take it back to 02 shop and ask them to sort it out

The contact icons are on the right on mine as well but only in the Favourites tab and these are only the frequently used contacts. My actualy favourites are just contact pictures. They are on the left when viewing the main contact list.

No, they are bright white on a black background. Have you tried what Forgotmyname mentioned about playing about with the brightness in the settings menu?

no my oh has the phone i will have a look later tonight. if all else fails i will take it back to the shop. only bought it last sunday. thanks for your help
its only the favourite page that is dim to the left side. all other pages seem ok. if i alter the brightness it would alter it for all other pages?
