Still waiting for people who don't normally buy organic to pop in and review yellow stickered organic stuff they've bought.

Supermarket organic kiwi fruits - Asda, Tesco or possibly both. OMG so much tastier, and not once but a couple of times because after the yellow sticker I bought some more more on an offer.

Asda organic Little Gem lettuces were the same as any Little Gem, I don't rate them they are tasteless and too much stalk. I was hoping to get a large frilly lettuce as per the image or I would not have bothered ordering.

I used to eat a fair bit of organic produce going back a few years, mostly supermarket but TBH I couldn't tell the difference in flavour with much. But do bear in mind I cook a lot of one pot meals and drown everything in chilli, garlic, spices, sauces and dressings, I don't eat a lot of produce as a plain side dish or snack.

  • Called into small asda wednesday and discovered organic pasta still on offer and actually in stock. Picked up 10 packs of fusilli and spaghetti to add to our stores, only 50p a packet.

:D The Galloping Gourmetpiggies .. lurve it :T

The Foodie Labrador would be just as happy with a Tesco value carrot as an Ocado organic one. He'd fling it round the kitchen like a cat with a mouse then crunch it like a bone :) He had Lidl, Abel & Cole, Ocado, ASDA, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose and munched them all.

My mother called me this morning, wanting me to trawl round the Internet looking for "boat shaped tins" (barquettes) cos she's seen some recipe Michel Roux Jr did on TV. Found them in Divertimenti from 1.05 each and also organic saffron for 4.95

    http://www.divertimenti.co.uk/Food_and_Books/Peppers_and_other_condiments/safinter-organic-saffron_.html

This is Spanish and IIRC Iranian is supposedly better. Link below for Iranian non-organic but 100% pure 4.50 and there's also saffron oil for 3.00

    http://www.zamzamdirect.com/finest-quality-iranian-quot;saffron-quot;-zamzam-.933244.html

Fire Fox thanks for reviewing ! You had mixed results with your YS there. I rarely find any YS organic stuff.

rufydoofyM that's cheap pasta, well spotted. Didn't go down that aisle when I was in ASDA this week, I will nip in and have a look. I low carb so don't eat it, but I'm thinking of giving OH the occasional pasta salad in the summer.

Another place which sells organic pasta is Lidl (farfalle in mine)

Borges organic Extra Virgin olive oil 500ml 50% off now 2.34 deal ends Sunday at Morrisons.

Hi kanimisso99 welcome to the thread.

Actually, I think it would be helpful if you gave your opinion on Abel & Cole and Riverford.

The more info and opinions we have, the better able we are, to make informed choices and I reckon that's good.

You're right but I have only been using one of them for quite a while now, so will probably order from the other for next week or two, so I can write fair comments.

I've only done two or three orders with Riverford. I didn't realise they delivered here until recently. So far I'm happy with the things I've bought although I don't think the milk is as good as A&C's. I'm still getting to know them, as it were.

I agree that milk is a good item to compare, as it can taste really different. Whenever I visit Normandy in northern France I buy micro-filtered non-pasteurised milk at a local market as it beats any pasteurised milk here. Does anyone sell micro-filtered one in this contry?

kanimisso99 - Cravendale is microfiltered but not organic. You can get it in any supermarket and I've seen it occasionally in Poundland. It's illegal to sell raw milk anywhere but farms, farmer's markets. Recently Selfridges has been selling it though and is being prosecuted.

French Click www.frenchclick.co.uk has some French UHT milk as well as other organic butter (President, Grand Fermage) and yogurt.

Love it ^ !! Maybe the pets should have their own blog lol. Have you tried foodie Lab on any organic dog food? (though if typical Lab guess he eats anything and everything..).

I was watching that and wondering where to get the tins from too :T It's just been repeated on BBC2 I think.

I tried growing saffron last year, was all going well but then the weather ruined it.

Might try and get the mini corn offer - don't like buying non UK/Europe stuff but will relent every now and again for the pets only, as they are more limited on what they can eat.

Oh and definitely don't like the Riverford Marfona potatoes, not nice flavour, just had 2 small ones as jacket potatoes for lunch. One also had green bit on and was starting to sprout - I know mine own have sprouted but..

I don't have a blog now but The Galloping Gourmetpiggies are welcome to guest review on my website which should be up next month x fingers. ;)

Organic dogfood  that Yarrah stuff is like over $2 a can on Ocado  Some of the Waitrose organic dogfood in yappy dog size are on offer ATM (er apologies to yappy dogs but they do my head in). FoodieLab would chow down on the small tubs and then look around as if to say: 'Nice snack, where's dinner ?' I've read that labradors don't have the satiety gene and IME that's dead right.

One thing I cannot be persuaded to eat now is baby corn. I always associate it with bad takeaways and it never seems to get tender. I like the Green Giant organic sweetcorn though.

I guess spuds are getting to the end of season unless baby new. Easter will soon be upon us.

Ocado has Green & Black's Easter eggs 2 for $8 saving $4 BTW
