I worked in a country hotel where beetroot was a veg dish with orange sauce (eww) but no must admit I haven't had it in a veg box yet so buy the Waitrose organic vacuum-packed from Ocado.
My Wordpress blog got suspended today because I made a reference to chocolate mousse and an actor and someone objected. So I'm looking at getting myself a website instead which would be more fun because the linear nature of blogs drives me to destraction.
Kirri, I heard Martin Lewis on Radio Five today and he said he loves anyone who does spreadsheets - he seems to do loads.
ASDA Great Stuff organic apples 550g bag £1 between 24/01 and 30/010 -
I only like yellow beetroot, just griddled in slices but never see them in shops though one of the veg boxes had them listed I think.
Choc mousse and an actor, the mind boggles what got you suspended!
I've been working on my spreadsheet today0 -
Am posting on OH's ancient Dell laptop using Windows Professional XP and Internet Explorer 9 as can you believe it, battery on my Vaio conked out 24 days after the end of the warranty !
OH suggested I get my own website which I may do.
Re: ASDA offer posted yesterday from leaflet, noticed today that it was 550g for a pound (er pound sign not working) instead of normal 700g for two pounds.
Federer 4-2 4th set yeah go Roger !0 -
Yup it is expensive.. the other ghee I used to use was the Khanum ghee without ethyl butyrate and I think that was 5.95 for 500g tins. Utterly delicious, reminded me of clotted cream.
Have you tried this ghee?

You can get if from Nutri Centre & get cash back (plus there's a code knocking about on MSE).0 -
Asda organic toms looked lot nicer this week - £1.30
Asda organic cucumber £1.25
Didn't look that close but did see organic broccoli as well.
Also Sainsbury's have some good Ecover offers. Waitrose also have on offer but they are a buy 3 for price of 2 which isn't good for me.0 -
i have been looking at the organic boxes, we are a family of 3 but I am 99%veggie will occasionally eat fish so we do eat a lot of veg. I have looked and all companies give a list of veg but no one gives any weight amount etc, other than enough for x amount of people.
Would anyone be able to advise?0 -
In my search for Dukkah, had forgotten about this site. Never tried their products but very good selection - delivery bit steep too unless spending over £20.
http://www.steenbergs.co.uk/
Had never tried them before, but always thought they looked good. So for xmas bought enough various organic herbs/spices to qualify for free delivery.
NOT impressed at all. Opened the organic caraway seeds yesterday - almost no smell at all, not much taste when used either. Just opened the yellow mustard powder - again almost no smell. [Edit] Bit more smell when cooking in cheese sauce...But [/Edit] will not buy any of their stuff again, fancy little glass jars an' all, just fur coat and no knickers IMHO.0 -
Did you complain?? ^ I hadn't ordered as postage too much for the one item I really need at the moment (luckily by sounds of it).0

I bought some organic muesli on Monday from http://uk.mymuesli.com/
It is being shipped from Germany and should arrive Monday. Around 2kg for £25 delivered - not cheap! But it was fun creating your own muesli from the 70 ingredients.
sarah222, organic carrots - delicious raw, my favourite snackFederer 4-2 4th set yeah go Roger !

smallblueplanet and happy35 welcome to the thread.
I was unaware of that ghee thanks smallblueplanet, I will also nose around the website.
berbastrike nope not Swiss, was reared on Lindt chocolate though as my grandfather worked for them. That's expensive muesli  Did see a UK compnay that lets you make own can't remember name at moment and not using own laptop so can't check on bookmarks soz. If you like German organic stuff they have a few bits on www.ululu.co.uk and www.bienmanger.com - BienManger does flat rate postage to UK for 15 euros.
Kirri as Abel & Cole failed to deliver Monday am about to run out of milk (must say Calon Wen organic semi skimmed UNhomogenised very nice) going to ASDA tomorrow, so will see what we can find
Steenbergs isn't the onlu organic herb place. There's another place mentioned on MSE Rose something. Again don't have access to bookmarks sorry.0
