Yesterday The Grocer reported that the EC is launching a EU-wide consultation to see whether GM should be allowed in organic food :eek:

I'm looking for a link to the EC consultaion atm

Why do <insert expletive> politicians think they have the right to mess with out food and then say oops sorry when things like BSE happen grrrr

I've spoken to Soil Association, done the questionnaire, will be putting it all up on my blog

:eek::eek::eek: zo horrified I don't,then know what to say about that.

We recently got an offer with ocado on a Black farmer organic chicken and it was really delicious and the carcass made wonderful stock for the soup. With a few veg it fedthe 2 of us for 7 days.
Bacon organic from Abel and Cole has become our favourite, it shrinks a bit but tastes so good.
Still on the lookout for organic sausages that taste as nice as Waitrose gourmet. Didn't. Like the Duchy or the Laverstoke.
Gammon joint from Abel and Cole is on the menu this weekend so will report on that later. They had £5 off on a £15 spend on meat so we intend to cut a bit off for gammon steaks and then boil the rest to have in sandwiches and salad and make soup with the stock.

rufydoofyM governments are always pro-stupidity :p I don't think consumers in countries like Denmark, Sweden and Germany will let the side down. They'll be jumping up and down :jwithout the smile ;)

I haven't found decent sausages either yet. I'm hooked on Laverstoke Park Farm black pudding though. My favourite bacon is the Duchy Originals from Waitrose unsmoked back bacon but the Sainsbury's SO organic unsmoked back bacon is just as good IMO. The Black Farmer chicken was out of stock when I looked last time, it's on my list to try.

Kirri, IF OH gets job he wants, I will have an excuse to go mooch round the big two floor plus cafe M&S in that town and maybe I will find these elusive M&S organic products. So far found eggs, milk, green tea, green tea with jasmine and green tea with lemon.

They do organic houmous as well just remembered, can't remember the price and I've closed my spreadsheet for tonight :o

If anyone comes across organic sunflower and pumpkin seeds NOT produced in China, please let me know! Currently got Infinity brand but really don't want to be having anything from China..

I don't use a lot and use more of English linseed in bread but do like the others too.

Thanks, I do use some of their products though hard to find the full range anywhere - they still source worldwide so will need to find them and check packets, info not on website.

Checked MySupermarket and CJ pumpkin seeds don't seem to be stocked in any supermarket. CJ sunflower seeds only stocked in Sainsbury's. Again no coountry info on that site either. I'll have a look when next in an organic shop or indie health shop in case either of them stock them.
