^ Yes Perrier still comes in glass bottles, my local Asda had them reduced to 50p over Christmas.

I usually get Highland Spring in the glass bottle. Morrisons stopped doing one I liked in the glass bottle before xmas, can't remember what one it was now.

rufy - the cat at my parents' house was struggling to drink rainwater out of a plant pot saucer the other day while I was there despite fresh tap water being put down for it.

Animals probably have better sense of taste than us.. when we were really poor we tried Tesco Value burgers which contained mechanically recovered chicken.. the Jack Russell wouldn't touch them.

Gossip.. Oprah Winfrey has applied to the US Patents office for trademarks on organic food and beauty products..

...according to the Food Safety Agency's research two out of three shoppers want products/animal/poultry fed on GM food to be labelled, which it isn't at the moment (GM not allowed in organic so don't worry)

^ our old terrier wouldn't touch veg burgers :D

but actually my pets were on organic veg before me, I was amazed to see them choose it when given a choice and I used to have one that wouldn't eat the cucumber skin but when given an organic one she did..

I had a bottle of Luscombe Oragnic Lemonade yesterday, it was delicious! They also other drinks, and you can buy them on amazon, however they're not particuarly cheap.

Hello everyone... so happy to have found this thread here :)
I started a massive overhaul to my diet last year and eat quite clean and semi organic. I am slowly finishing some of my cupboard stocks and replacing things with organic versions. The changes I am making to my diet are sometimes from week to week, and there is this lag with using what I already have so as not to be wasteful.
I look forward to contributing here :)

Does anyone else here eat rye bread?
I am particularly fond of most of the Schneider Brot varieties - particularly the Organic Three Grain Bread (49% rye, with 3% oats and 3% barley). They have a Organic Rye & Sunflower Seed version (55% rye, 5% sunflower seeds) - which I will be trying for the first time this week. This brand is quite readily available (although usually just one or two varieties, never seen the complete range in stock anywhere) in Waitrose, Sainsburys and also a friend picked me up some in Morrisons. The longer slice is usually around £1.30, and the smaller non organic variety is around £1.20.
Does anyone have any inside info (lol) on other tasty rye breads available?

    :)

Hi Parisian welcome to the thread.. bornintoit is using up stuff from cupboards as well so may have some suggestions.

As I low carb and the bread fiend husband won't touch rye bread, the only suggestions I can make are (a) to Search MSE cos there are websites of several bakeries on the thread and (b) to have a look for Biona brand as well.

    Beckyy.. thanks for the review.:T

OH has been chomping his way through bread and I've not reported back, sorry.. at weekend he had Sainsbury's SO organic baguette and his verdict was not as good as Waitrose (99p) but better than the Tesco one (90p) although smaller in size.

He had some cheese scones from The Authentic Bread Co www.authenticbread.co.uk from Abel & Cole and he lurved them.

Neither he or my my mother were really impressed by poppy seed baguettes (small batons really) from The Authentic Bread Co via Abel & Cole at Christmas.

OH wasn't keen, I had a tiny weeny bit and went wow and my mother fell in lurve with Daylesford Organic fruit bread from Ocado. You can really taste the fruit even to the extent of determining what it is. I'd suggest cutting into four or slices and freezing bits rather than risking it getting stale while you slowly eat through it - it's quite rich.

OH thought the pain de mie from Gail's Bread (bought when on offer at Ocado) was too sweet (maybe the milk ?) but my mother said although it's sweet it's perfect breakfast bread so she snaffled the rest of it.

I low carb but I'm usually surrounded by bread :p

Kirri.. you have smart pets ;)

Had the Asda organic cherry tomatoes tonight and despite not being very red they were very sweet. Worth getting.

    Parisian, hi, look here
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_nr_scat_340834031_ln?rh=n%3A340834031%2Ck%3Aorganic+rye+bread&keywords=organic+rye+bread&ie=UTF8&qid=1358105956&scn=340834031&h=db12fa0b8074edd5f2e2d910765d15b1842d049c

I try to avoid amazon since they do not pay any tax to the UK on their profits as they exploit a tax loophole but the range of organic food they have is very impressive.

Kirri, i also forgot to add Asda organic stuff is Class 2 and not Class 1 (so more bashes and blemishes, I think it all tastes the same though and I don't mind wonky carrots).

Beckyy hi too. That looks very nice and also there ingredients are:

Spring water, organic sicilian lemon juice (14%),organic raw cane sugar, madagascan vanilla extract. :)

I just done a search for lemonade on Tesco and the first one,
Tesco Sparkling Lemonade 2 Litre Bottle

Ingredients: Carbonated Water,Sugar ,Lemon Juice From Concentrate (2%) ,Citric Acid ,Flavourings ,Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrate) ,Preservative (Potassium Sorbate) ,Sweeteners (Aspartame, Sodium Saccharin)

    scary reading
