Organic food in supermarkets

Never tried that Dorset puff, seen it on Ocado but the one time I decided to splash out  it was out of stock. I usually make a shortcrust though not as nice as puff. Had home made mincemeat/brandy butter too although my brandy wasn't organic.. I've had that filo quite a bit but I had some I hadn't used in time in the fridge for nearly 2 years despite it's 1 month? use by date and it didn't go off (I did throw it in the end as probably very dry).
I've not tried the Riverford or A&C houmous.
Which reminds me (HFW and his humii??!) is back on TV this week I think with his new series.0 -
HFW.. do you mean Hugh Christopher Edmund Fearnley-Whittingstall of River Cottage and FishFight ?

I won't be buying that book then Kirri
the only fruits I can eat normally, which don't spike my blood glucose are strawberries and melon. Sometimes I live dangerously and have three cherry tomatoes, five grapes or a teeny banana..
I think eating fruit rather than drinking juices is a better idea because then you get the fibre too.
Don't watch The Dog Rescuers on Channel 5 Kirri, we were watching it on catch up and both cried.0 -
Some posters on here may remember the European Commission public policy consultation on organic farming which ended in April. Some posters/readers may have responded to the questionnaire.
Well, while nothing has been decided yet, the results from the public and interested parties are back.

Had flying foodie visit to the IOW and while not org, the artisan bread from the Island Bakers is really good, wish I'd bought more back now I've tasted it!

For anyone who hasn't yet made the change to org toiletries, you might be interested to read this:

After reading that 80% of the ingredients in skin creams end up inside the body  I'm wondering whether I should just slap on olive oil (amazing as emergency shoe polish) or take a beauty tip from Cleopatra and bathe in milk.0

Anyone see the Iceland: Inside the Freezer documentary ?
Their frozen vegetable spring rolls do contain palm oilbut don't contain E numbers so I've ordered some to try with home-cooked Chinese style food. If we like them, might get some more to add to Christmas buffet for my veggie mother. I don't want it just to be really stodgy/heavy stuff for her eg nut roast and pies.
OH had the Brockleby's game pie from hmm not sure - it was either Abel & Cole or Ocado and he loved it so that's one for the meat-eaters end of the buffet table.
Had Abel & Cole venison burgers with home-made swede oven chips tonight and OH loved them but I didn't. So as I ate only one burger and hadn't touched the other, he rustled that into the fridge to have in a roll with mustard tomorrow as part of his lunch. The swede chips were great and lower carb than spuds0
