Organic food in supermarkets

Thanks for that Chris25 let my mother know so she can go nab milk.
Yesterday OH and I spent the day with my mother, and called into a large Tesco and picked up Tesco organic chopped tomatoes in tomato juice in tetrapaks. Although I don't like Tesco, I have to say I prefer tomatoes from tetrapaks to those from tins when using them for cooking. Much better taste IMO.0 -
Just in case anyone has been or is tempted by the offers.
Beware, the offers don't always register on the receipt and are often incorrect on the packaging.
Today I had 3 packs of bacon, back unsmoked and smoked and streaky all of which were charged at original price yet advertised at 20% off:mad:
Waitrose organic chicken is advertised at £6.82 per kg but is £6.99 on packaging and charged as such.
I've had problems with Laverstoke pork, beef and gammon joints several times this year and had to repeatedly call Ocado to rectify the overcharge. They promise to look into it, but the problem continues. In general I love their service, selection, 1 hr delivery slots and trial smart pass etc, but it makes me so angry that they continue to overcharge  and so many customers probably don't notice.
When I called cust services she was apologetic and offered to refund the overcharge but couldn't work it out and gave up offering £5 refund and a goodwill voucher for £15. I was grateful for that however would have rather they got it sorted and then I wouldn't have to call them.
Couldn't believe yet another person in their cust services couldn't cope with basic maths though !
Enjoyed the bacon sandwiches though and will be adding to my order for next weekend, wonder if I'll be overcharged again.0 -
I have never checked my Ocado receipts. I will look at the old emails and see if I can check. Thanks for pointing this out.
Lot of people cannot cope with basic maths, which is why companies should have cheap calculators to hand for staff to use or just have Excel or Open Office installed on their machines. I think 58% of applicants got a Maths GCSE grade C or above this year, think about how many didn't. Or did but still cannot work things out.0 -

What saucepans do you all use?
I have been reading about how non stick coatings can come off and end up in your food.0 -

My saucepans are all stainless steel but I do have a non stick frying pan...0 -
Le Creuset, Bourgeat - none of which are non-stick. OH has a Tefal non-stick frying pan for his fry-ups but it's one of those ones with a red spot in the middle that tells you when it's correct temp - doesn't look like a conventional Teflon to moi. I could be mean and wind him up
Abel & Cole order today.. yogurt over floor cos warehouse packed em upside down <rolls eyes> Milk had squished a big yogurt so that leaked too. But A&C refunded no probs.
A&C customers do you get a box tidy in your box ? I've never had one.
One time Ocado overcharged me for Daylesford chicken fillets not thighs and it was a warehouse data entry mistake and Ocado refunded straight away.
My first order with Abel & Cole they overcharged me on chiicken as well but refunded.
But please be aware on weights that average weight can be 10% above OR below !
Got some Dragonfly mushroom burgers - anyone had those ?0 -
A box tidy??? Do you mean the single bit of cardboard at an angle to separate the items?
Let me know what the mushroom burgers are like - been very pleased with the Mexican Dragonfly burgers. Though at the moment I am making all my own beanburgers from dried allotment beans.
I've never been overcharged on Ocado iirc, I do tick off every item on the receipt, check against price I expected to pay and log all the items on my own spreadsheet though0 -

Stellar 6000 range frying pans, all saucepans are stainless steel(few Alessi bargains from Amazon years ago), Mermaid baking stuff and all other ones are Le Creuset. Initial outlay might be way more than cheap stuff(not disposable, but close enough), but I cook a lot so happy to invest in good tools. Especially like Mermaid stuff. Every time I am in Tkmaxx I do check all pans and pots with same scrutiny as I do shoe departmentNo wonder my kitchen looks like a branch on Lakeland and Imelda Marcos would be proud of my shoe collection.
