Wouldn't trust those eggs ^ looks like a company forced by law to replace battery cages with the new (still small) enriched cages and promoting it as though it's a good thing, bit hard to see what they keep as free range from their site unless they have another flock?? But for £1 it's presumably not great.

String isn't bad value though! (I've been saving the bits off the A&C boxes, will reuse on the allotment..).0 -
I will say though that other European countries aren't even doing this. The page you linked to shows enriched colony housing but the free range page seemed incomplete.
I save the string but OH keeps throwing it away !0 -
It's good string!
I wouldn't trust a company to have proper free range if they had battery cages pre the ban and have only gone up to enriched - the FR ones are probably just a pop hole in a vastly overcrowded warehouse type shed, for £1 a pop they aren't going to be great conditions or feed, it's impossible0 -
Liking the idea of Fab Food Friday :j
Mostly lovely stuff from A&C today ; Authentic Hot Cross Buns and croissants, excellent medium fruit box and large veg box. Had to complain about the tomatoes which were very poor and starting to rot but had swift apology in reply and refund so can't fault customer service.
Also various store cupboard items so seem to have spent a small fortune this week with A&C, Riverford and then Ocado due tomorrow. Must have a serious delve in freezer and cupboards and cut back for a week or two but there are so many tempting things about at the moment.0 -
I'd like to stock up on organic tinned tomatoes but can't find any cheaper than 89p. Not long ago I was buying at 69p. Are there any offers about that anyone's aware of? Also, we use a lot of dried ground ginger and cinnamon, plus various curry spices. Is there a good place to get all these under one roof at a reasonable price? Usually end up buying here and there as not everyone stocks organic versions of these so get what I can when I can.0

I have a lot of org offers in my Ocado basket waiting for a 20% code but order amounts are far too high for me to use regularly plus the higher delivery costs and faffing around trying to get a cheap slot - saying that though this week I've had £20 ish each on Riverford and A&C..
VOU7260880 £20 off £60 valid until the 18th, allegedly for existing customers ....
VOU8523367 £20 off £80 valid until June, possibly new customers only.

I use ASDA Organics which are 75p for a 400g tin both whole and chopped in tomato juice. Tesco does organic chopped tomatoes in tomato juice 400g tetrapaks for 76p but not tried these.
Alternatively, why not use passata ?
Tarantella organic passata 690g 1.50 ASDA
Sainsbury's SO organic passata 700g 1.29
Tesco organic passata 680g 1.19
Waitrose organic passata 680g 1.25
Waitrose organic passata 680g 1.25 Ocado
Biona organic pasta with basil 700g 2.29 Ocado
Biona organic passata rustica 700g 2.29 Ocado
Biona organic passata fina 680g 2.09
Mr Organic passata 400g 1.39 690g 1.59 Ocado
Mr Organic passata and basil 690g 1.59 Ocado
Mr Organic passata rustica 690g 1.69 Ocado
