What's your pet hate about comping?

After this weekend I've got a new one.
Trying to clear the board and failing miserably!!!!0 -

I just had a confirmation that my entry had been received from an absolute radio comp. It made me laugh and would probably answer a few of the questions that get repeatedly asked on here!
1. You might win it, you might not.
2. If you do win it, we'll be in touch.
3. If you don't, we won't... but you'll still be a winner in your own special way.0 -

I also thought this…but I can also top it….
I was too young to really remember the IRA but when i was 18 it was front page news that they were surrounding their weapons and I had to ask my colleague why Ireland's equivalent of the MI5 would do that??!!!! haha! I certainly got a few odd looks from my teammates that day!!!Latest MSE win: Metcalfes Snack Box

I dislike the inappropriate use of the 'THANKS' button on these forums.
Here is an example:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=65304847&postcount=144
That post has currently been 'THANKED' 156 times.
Why? Because it is on a 'Regularly Updated' thread where people just use the 'THANKS' button to show themselves how far down the thread they have previously progressed.
If I were to make a single post with just a smiley on it - if it were on a 'Regularly Updated' thread then I would guarantee that a least a dozen people would 'THANK' me!

Mine are the ones who grumble how they are having such a poor month "I've only won ten prizes this month" or whatever
Wish I could thank this more than once "If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you. "

I thank every poster for posting a comp even if I view it and decide not to enter. The only time I do not thank is if I bypass a comp completely because the title does not interest me and apply a red cross to it (so I do not view it)
Like for example, I have just looked at a post that has been viewed 287 times but only has been thanked 106 times. It annoys me when people obviously view a post, enter then just leave without a thanks - I am only surmising but I think the non thankers are more likely to be people who rarely post. Could be wrong so don't quote me!
I wouldn't go to a shop, purchase an item, and have some one serve me without thanking them - or not thank someone for holding the door open for me - but that is just the way I was brought up.:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -

I agree with you here - on the threads that are regularly updated, they should have a 'thanks' and an 'entered' button so that you can track where you are up to and thank the poster at the same time.:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
Looking forward to the advents0

The “inappropriate use of the thanks button”????????
That’s it for me – that is the straw that has broken this particular camel’s back. I think you lot have finally sent me over the rainbow.
I am used to being called greedy because I choose to sell some prizes, and selfish for daring to be a comper in the first place. I don’t thank every comp, or every post, so apparently I am also rude and nasty. I make the odd mistake here too, so I guess that means I’m slapdash, lazy and thoughtless. But on top of all these ‘crimes’ I now find that I also use the thanks button inappropriately, as a marker instead of as a sincere expression of gratitude! So what does that make me? You’ll have to help me on that one because I’m struggling to find any part of my character that is left to attack.
I’ll tell you my pet hate about comping, I can sum it up in one word: Intolerance!
Blu :mad:I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology
THIS IS ME!
When you talk down to others it says more about you than them.0
